Howdy, IIRC Thumbnails replace icons only when Medium, Large or Extra Large icons are selected under MS Windows 10 (and maybe 7 also) Explorer. I assumed this would have affected the Start center previews, but they seem to work fine without the thumbnail. I guess any file manager can make use of the thumbnails.
