I just got it. Senary means base 6. 10 is 6. 10/10/10 is 666.

apparently, the beta's out now.

Canonical  and the Ubuntu  developers have issued a beta version
10.10 of Ubuntu, code-named Maverick Meerkat. This development
milestone is the first and only planned beta release and will be
followed by a release candidate on the 30th of September.
