Job Description/Skills Required:*
In depth understanding of server-based operating system;
kernel configurations, understands system designs and hardware
configurations.
Can provide supervision to junior associates.
Works under the general supervision of a project lead or system
administrator manager.
o Working knowledge of Vmware ESX 4.x; ESXi o Skilled in Redhat Linux 4x, 5x
(networking, kernel param tuning, trouble shooting system perf issues,
pkg mgmt, patch mgmt)
o Working knowledge of hpux 11.1, 11.2 (networking, kernel param tuning,
trouble shooting system perf issues, pkg mgmt, patch mgmt)
o SAN storage technologies (like rdf, snaps, etc) preferably with EMC will
be plus
o sound volume management skills preferably hp lvm will be plus
o clustering experience: HP MC/SG, GFS, Veritas Clustering and Oracle RAC on
Linux
o Basic level scripting (either shell or perl should be fine) but should be
capable of understanding other shell scripts

Canditates should have worked in Unix/Linux Platforms like Solaris,
HP-UX,AIXand Red Hat Linux.
Should have Administrative expereince in Unix like UserManagement, Process
Daemon Management, Softwares (Patches Packages)Management.
Should have worked on Filesystems like Filesystems, Exporting Mounting
FileSystems, Recovering Filesystem Errors and Device Path Management.
Should have worked on File Permissions.
Should have worked on Performanceissues, Volume Managers
clusters.Knowledge of Disk Space Management,Performing user
administration,performing System securit,configuring networkfile system and
Auto FS.
Canditates should have worked on Windows server platforms like Windows
2000server/W2K Advanced server/W2K Datacenter Edition.
Should have experience inInstalling upgrading device drivers for devices
like HBA Cards.
Should haveworked on Software Managements like Installing/Uninstalling
Softwares, servicepacks and patches.
Should have worked on Filesystems.
Should have worked on ACLPermissions.
Should have worked on Basic to Dynamic disk conversions, SotwareRAIDs, Disk
