Ok, Spyros, now you've gone and done it - Noel has almost certainly
added you to his personally maintained RBL that he uses to reject mail
(complete with an insulting rejection message) from people who say
things he doesn't like (like when I pointed out that he spammed the
spam-l list a while back due to his poorly thought out out-bound
anti-spam rules that flag a message as spam, then *deliver* it to the
intended recipient with a huge warning about how it is spam inserted at
the top of the message).

As for my knowledge level, thanks for the kind words, but I tend to
think of myself as having reached the level of 'I know enough to be
dangerous, but also *know* this, so I'm very careful whenever
installing/updating/tweaking something'...

... and I've gotten pretty good at googling how to fix things while
reaching this level of 'expertise', due specifically to the (large)
number of mistakes I've made... ;)

Anyway, enough of the OT chatter (at least from me)...

I third that. We've recently switched to Dovecot from Courier, of which with
we've had severe IO issues and massive load averages (think 20-30 on peak
times). With dovecot, we're now under 1 99% the time thanks to caching,
indexes and whatnot.

Keep up the great work, Timo.

I second that wholeheartedly. Without Timo's excellent software, I'd still
be in the IMAP hell of 6 months ago -- before we switched to dovecot. Now
I've got no more NetApps straining, no more servers with huge loads and
massive I/O wait, and no more customers complaining about sluggish IMAP and
webmail. I love it.

Stephan Bosch of course also develops Pigeonhole. But yeah, there's not that
much cross-coding between these projects. Except when I change Dovecot APIs and
force Stephan to update his code. :)

I am about the furthest thing from a developer of anything, let alone
dovecot, as you can get...

But I do echo the sentiments as directed to Timo, who is the primary
(only?) dovecot developer...

Although I'm at work, I will also note these Dovecot users:
