Fix this... postfix doesn't think [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a valid recipient.

Are all users local?

This is the problem... but I'm not sure what it means...

Are you running postfix chrooted? What is in master.cf?

Yup, this is the problem.

I have made no changes to /etc/postfix/master.cf

Did you notice the remark local configuration error!

Somebody else is having the same problem? Please help.

Ahem... I didn't ask you if you had made any changes, I asked you:

1. if you were running postfix chrooted *you didn't answer)

and

2. what is IN master.cf (you didn't respond)

Yes... but examining both postconf -n and dovecot -n doesn't explain it...

You apparently are not using the dovecot LDA, so why is postfix's LDA
trying to open the dovecot.conf file?

Charles:

Thank you for pointing out the problem. In one of the previous posts,
someone had suggested to add the line:

Mailbox_command = /usr/linexec/dovecot/deliver

and when I removed this line, the error in question went away. It may be
change in davecot version-1.1.1.

Thats what it tells you to do on the dovecot wiki IF you are using the
dovecot LDA...

http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Postfix

Speaking of which... any reason you are not? When you use the dovecot
LDA, it updates the indexes as it delivers messages...
