Re: Package repository now available

2017-12-30 Thread Dean Carpenter

Any reason not to do

curl https://repo.dovecot.org/DOVECOT-REPO-GPG | apt-key add -

Seems to work fine here.

2nd question :

For a stock Ubuntu 16.04 install, will adding this repo allow a clean
upgrade ? These are the current packages :

dovecot-antispam 2.0+20150222-1build1
dovecot-core 1:2.2.22-1ubuntu2.4
dovecot-imapd 1:2.2.22-1ubuntu2.4
dovecot-lmtpd 1:2.2.22-1ubuntu2.4
dovecot-managesieved 1:2.2.22-1ubuntu2.4
dovecot-mysql 1:2.2.22-1ubuntu2.4
dovecot-sieve 1:2.2.22-1ubuntu2.4
dovecot-solr 1:2.2.22-1ubuntu2.4

Thanks for the repo - should make things much nicer !

D.

Great!

Now I am using Dovecot v2.2.3 install from source on CentOS7. (Config
option: ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --with-mysql
--libdir=/usr/lib64 --with-solr) If I add this new yum repo and do a
"yum update", will it smoothly upgrade to v2.3? Will the update also
take care the systemd service?

Thanks.

Thank you so much for this. Awesome!

When do you push the packages?
Sometimes you do re-releases of the source tarballs if minor bugs are
found, so I'm wondering if it would make sense to wait 1 week to release
rpms? So you don't yum-autoupdate all installations with possibly faulty
releases?

Thanks again.

Are provided packages suitable for production usage?

Packages are provided for 2.3 series and forward. Please let us know
