RE: [DQSD-Users] Dave search bar and active content blocking by XP SP2
Thad. Thank you very much. I tried your suggestion this morning. Your solution works perfectly. Spot on. Well done. Much appreciated. Re: [DQSD-Users] Dave search bar and active content blocking by XP SP2
Yeah the thing is this probably isn't specific to DQSD. The added security mechanism of sp2 will undoubtedly affect other applications. The info to turn the feature off, or configure it to let dqsd run in peace etc will probably come from broader discussions elsewhere about the service pack.. I suspect *many* of the discussion boards will liven up after sp2 is released... Re: [DQSD-Users] Dave search bar and active content blocking by XP SP2 [bcc][faked-from]
Folks, I think the issue is deeper than that and very much a part of the new security features added to XP via Service Pack 2. (As far as I know, SP2 is still in beta.) I've tried a variety of security settings, including putting the DQSD files into "Trusted Zones". BTW, I couldn't get IE to let me reduce my Internet security below Medium - it gives an error message and resets it to Medium. I'm still playing around with customized settings, but haven't found anything that works. Sigh, Ken. RC wrote: Steve, Sounds like a problem with your IE security settings. Click Apply>Ok. If you continue to have problems, and are using a firewall like Zone Alarm Pro, check the Privacy settings to make sure they aren't set too high. (I just installed search bar today and I'm still trying to figure out all the features.) But, hope this helps.Good Luck!
