You can also use a 12V fan, mounting holes are standard
dimension so lots of fans will fit.
I found a 12V fan from an old computer PS that had
the same dimensions as the FA-7. Also with a 12V fan it´s
easy to speed controll it to get the noise down.
Since I don´t have the PS-7 PSU it was crummy to use the
FA-7 110V unit when there isn´t any 110V available, now
my old FA-7 is collecting dust in the junk box.

I was going to try to check in, but conditions were not favorable. All
drake-net stations heard were very weak, and I had lots of adjacent sigs at
40+db.
Judging from the list , it seems to have been a "western" net. I'll try
again next week.

Well, the consensus is that I need to find new chimneys - that sounds like
it will be a bit of fun. Looks like there are 3 possibilities - SK 406
(4.75" tall), SK 406A (4.25" tall) and SK 406B (4" tall). Sounds like the
3-500Z chimney in use with the L-4B would be the 4.75" SK 406 chimney, if
the 4.75" chimney fits in the L4. Does that sound right?

We're at the point where someone is needed to make some basic decisions
about this net, the day of the week, time and frequency. It is obvious
that the time needs to accommodate our European and South American friends.

I haven't talked to Thom about this (but I will if I can't make everyone
happy). We need a step up volunteer who is running a Yagi and power and to
start with two more stations with the same qualifications to assist. I can
visualize a need for more help and we also need people who are skilled in
repairing Drake equipment.

I have a list of people who feel that the Net is important, but rather than
publish it may I ask for three net control volunteers to whom I will sent
the names and calls of people who are interested. I have power and a yagi
but am not able to act as net control.

Let's go
