W8DZR,

Thanks for the heads up. That was a nice plug for CW and ham
radio.

Re: [drakelist] Free Ham Ads

Wow. Free ads. Brings a few questions to mind. For some reason,
"why?" wasn't one of them. ;-)

I'm frustrated by classified ad systems that no one sees. What kind of
traffic does your site generate? Or are you hoping the "free ads" thing
will help generate some traffic? I guess my real question here is,
which one do you have, the chicken or the egg?

Also, if I considered displaying my phone number in an ad, why would I
care if my email address were displayed or not? Personally, I'd post my
email address long before I'd consider displaying my phone number in an
ad. Spam I can deal with. Nut jobs are the real scary things.

Think there aren't nut jobs watching? A guy went "postal" the other day
on QRP-L because he was too dopey to unsubscribe himself. Said he was
persecuted by the government. Yeah, okay, whatever.

Curious minds and all that.
Tnx.

No Charge-No Begging Classified Ads
Need to dispose of ham gear without paying fees?
Looking for ham gear?
Tired of responding to stale ads that haven't been updated/deleted?
The Zerobeat.net Classified Ad system offers free ads for those
wishing to buy/sell/trade amateur radio equipment at:

www.zerobeat.net/classpro/
The Classified Ad system is open for all...There are a few categories,
you can select whether or not your city, state and phone number is
displayed...and your email address is NOT exposed on the web(but folks
can send you private mail).

So...give it look and perhaps list some of the things that you want or
want to get in the hands of another ham.

If you've ever been frustrated by classified ad systems that lists
items that were sold years ago...this system has auto-delete based on
time.

Each ad is reviewed before posting to the system to aid in protection
against spam and inappropriate items.

[drakelist] Replacing cathode resistors

2005-05-13 Thread K4GM -George

Hi Garey,
I continue to refer to the pix from your Drake CD so your efforts are
definitely appreciated. My latest problem is that I have to replace the
two cathode resistors on the two finals on a T4XC. Getting to pin 3 is
easy but getting to the other pin to solder is another story. Should I
simply remove the screw holding the vertically mounted board next to the
finals and try to move it to give soldering access or should I loosen the
two allen wrench screws holding the bandswitch shaft and slide the shaft
out of the rear hole??? Thanks.

Nobody has expressed interest in the items so they are free for the taking the weekend of Dayton Hamvention.  Safe travel, and remember to dress for at least one day of rain...
