[drakelist] Question Regarding Drake C-Line Radio Chassis

Hi Drakelist.
Does anyone know what kind of protective  lacquer Drake used on their C-Line 
radio chassis? I have successfully polished out some surface rust that was 
starting on the edge of a unit and would like to reseal it with the same 
color lacquer to get as close to original look as possible.

Hi Wade,

To the best of my knowledge Drake did not lacquer the C line chassis.
Certainly my very late S/N chassis are not lacquered and I have never seen any 
that were.
Do you perhaps mean the black exterior cabinets?
I did have a reference to an exact match paint they used but unfortunatly lost 
it. Believe it was 
an automobile type touch up paint.
