Re: [Drakelist] Drake separates

2009-09-16 Thread AirRadio
Well, thanks everyone for a very interesting and lively response to my mail on
this reflector, great to have so many opinions and thoughts on this subject, I
think after due consideration I will be looking for a TX-4B and an R-4B the
choices were made on the following, most of the 'extras' come built in,
prettier looks, just seem more appealing and will go well with my L-4B (B
version), more valves, thus easier for me to work on and probably to get spares
too, some transistors are getting hard to find, not so with most valves.
Anyway when I find them I will almost certainly be asking more questions,

[Drakelist] Fw: T-4XB

2009-09-16 Thread KC4SUE - Fred

I last posted a request for help with a T-4XB that would not load. I
appreciated all the help and replies I received .
It turn out to be a cracked Band Selector switch.
I have since acquired another T-4XB from a friend. With this rig I can not get
a bias reading on the meter to adjust the 70 ma bias current.
I've have check the power supply and all voltages are correct. Lamps and tube
filaments are all good.
Bias voltage from Power supply varies with the adjustment pot like it should,
but No rig Meter movement at all.
I check the meter and it is good. Any advice or suggestion will be most
appreciated.
Thank You ,
Fred,
 KC4SUE

Hey all, I wanted to listen to the Drake net on Sunday.  Didn't hear anyone out

Does anyone have a Drake slip-type cabinet, the type used for RV-4s; MN2000s;
or even an MN4 that they would be willing to sell? Wear and tear acceptable,
but not all beat up!
