Re: [Drakelist] L4B Band-switch control knob

2010-07-01 Thread k9sqg
Fellow enthusiasts,

When replacing the bandswitch knob, you might want to consider a bar style
instead of the original to enable easier bandswitching. If you have arthritis
or limited gripping strength, that round knob can be a challenge, hi hi.
Lubing the switch helps but it is still a beefy item.

Have an enjoyable, safe 4th of July holiday weekend.

73,

Evan

Hi

I am refurbishing an L4B which for some reason is missing its band-change
control knob. I wonder if anyone here can guide me to the source of a
replacement?

Any help much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Re: [Drakelist] R-7

2010-07-01 Thread Arthur Delibert

If you're concerned about the long-term effects of the heat (and, as Garey
suggests, it may not be a real concern), you might run the receiver off an
external power supply. That cools it quite a bit.

My SPR-4 dial window (plastic with red vertical line) has yellowed, does
anyone sell these, or have parts units to rob one?
