[Drakelist] FS-4 cable

2011-08-14 Thread Neil M Califano
What cable can be used instead of the original Drake cable for the FS-4 - R4A?
Can any crystal socket be used?

Neil -

Needs to be low capacity cable, as short as possible, (12-18). RG-62A/U, RG-59/U, Belden 8421 Mic
cable, etc. 14 - 18 pF/ft.

The center conductor needs to be plugged into ANY crystal socket, to the pin that is 'common' to all
the others. Typically the bottom pin of each crystal socket, and the shield of the cable to chassis
ground, NOT to the other crystal socket pin. It does not matter which crystal socket is used, nor
does the socket used have to be selected from the front panel.

The cable should also be unplugged from the receiver when using the internal
crystals.

[drakelist] FS 4 cable

2005-01-04 Thread KF4NI

HI all,
I have a FS 4 to use with my "C" line and need a cable to hook it
up. Can anyone tell me where to buy one. A friend told me it is a special cable
and not just a piece of mini 8 coax with rca jacks on each end. Any help
appreciated.
I am new to Drakes and this is my 1st set. They came from a one
owner and was not talked on much. I have all cables except the one for the FS 4.
Thanks for any help.
