Hi Don, Some guy had a bunch of mic elements a short while ago on eBay that he claimed were replacements (albeit physically smaller) for the crystal cartridges inside the D-104... Don, I use Shure 444D microphones with my Drakes and have always received good reports. I use a sure 444 and it works fine. My friend w2eny sells replacement mic elements for the d104 google him.
