Gerry and gang,

The URL in your email is not correct and causes a 404 error. The correct
link is:

http://home.wanadoo.nl/cmulder/drake.htm

or just use http://home.wanadoo.nl/cmulder/index.htm to enjoy the QRP
related info of my website if you wish. Rien, PA0TRT does not have a
personal website, so we used my webspace with a separated Drake page to put
our info on the net.

Carel - PA0CMU.

I use a home brew version of the same thing which was posted on a web site
by PA0TRT. Essentially it is a copy of the RF preamp in the R-7 receiver. I
used the STRORE switch instead of drilling a hole in the front panel. It
does improve sensitivity on all bands but is really intended for the higher
bands such as 10 meters. You don't need all the extra gain on the lower
bands anyway and it may under certain circumstances degrade strong signal
handling performance. DF4NW's board seems inordinately large for what it
contains. The last time I checked, the PA0TRT web site had a lot of
interesting info on the TR-7.
