Probably the 2nd IF/ Audio board? Yes, you can remove it without a puller. But
the puller is very easy to make from a wire coat hanger, and you will want to
have one anyway:

[Drakelist] Paint for TR7 & Mod of Store switch on TR7

2011-06-28 Thread Woody
*Hello, I attempted to post this past weekend but don't think it worked. I
need to repaint the cabinet on a WH7 watt meter and PS7. Does anyone know
the correct paint or one close?*
*Also I would like to do the Mod for the Store sw. to have a tune button. I
noticed that the mod said to remove one of the boards to gain access to the
key plug. My question is can you remove the board easily without the use of
a puller? Or do you need to make a special tool to remove it.*
*Thanks*

[Drakelist] Paint

2010-10-03 Thread m coffey
There is a post on the WB4HFN (Roed finishn Bakers) web site giving a
technique for duplicating the later Drake paint. You have to dig down into
the web site a bit, but it gives the proper paint type and a way to
duplicate the speckled finish. Mike, KB1EZL

$125 for a C line, no speaker, seems a bit much IMHO..
(each is 2pc, total 4pc +frt)

Given that price, I can't imagine anyone wanting to paint their own

Yes, we restore the cabinets, (by powdercoating) to new finish. We get
cabinets in from all over the world, which I find amazingBut we do an
exceptional job, so I guess it's not that amazing.
You are correct, we charge $25.00 ea piece, and $25.00 shipping and
handling for each order

(not each piece).
Please keep in mind if your cabinet is silkscreened, we cannot
re-screen. We
only have the screening capabilities for the TR-4 model. If you would
like

to send your cabinet in, our address is:
2533 Technical Drive

You can send to my attention. Please include your phone number with your
order.
We accept personal checks, money order, or a cashiers check and you

2005-10-05 Thread Mike Williams

I can't recall the spray paint that is close to
matching the 4 line black.  It seems that I saw a post on it here.
Does anyone know the color and brand and/ or perhaps the outfit in Ohio which
does repaint jobs on the cabinets?

Thanks much,

Any recomendations for what type of paint to use to repaint the Drake 2B
ands 2BQ cabinets? They are both in need of help and I'd like to match the
original as closely as possible. Thanks, Bob

Exposure to low heat might work, but we tried that without any luck.

You guys who have never seen "sticky paint" have missed an experience!
New, it was not sticky, had a velvet "feel",
and looked really sharp. We replaced it with the vinyl clad stuff you
see today.

Oh well - time marches on!
