Garey Barrell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- These adjustments affect the RECEIVE filter alignment only. NOT the transmit filter alignment. The Carrier Oscillator frequency is probably off, which is primarily dependent upon the 13.695 MHz VCXO. The only safe answer is a complete realignment, starting with setting the 10V bus adjustment. The alignment is fully described in the Service Manual, and is not difficult, but MUST be done correctly and in the proper order to get it right. 73, Garey - K4OAH Glen Allen, VA Drake 2-B, 4-B, C-Line & TR-4/C Service Supplement CDs Jim Shorney wrote: "Jim Shorney" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- On Sun, 6 Jul 2008 14:40:10 +0100, John Stringer wrote: "John Stringer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- I bought a TR7A on ebay recently and it really is in great condition and works fine except for one BIG problem.I am told that the transmit audio is muddy, distorted, does not seem properly positioned in passband, has a trace of carrier etc. Any ideas about how I should start tackling this problem?
