Those 3 files are my results. If needed some day.

As far as I can tell, this issue is also occuring here
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101977#c18 where you will also get
redirected to Git-pull:"linux : fix radeonsi/radev crashes during startup #390"

Good Luck!

Additional case info:

Graphics used: Radeon R9 280X was announced on September 25, 2013 (..) based on
the Tahiti XTL chip, being a slightly upgraded, rebranded Radeon HD 7970 GHz
Edition.

1# OS used: Mint 18.1. Problem: After launching in opengl3 or with no param,
graphic glitch appears. Striped/Colored.
Graphic glitches only affect areas of the loading screen. System did not
freeze.
After loading, the slightly bigger Editor window pops up, while the content
cannot be read, it still reacts to mouse hover events, causing even more small
gpu and opengl errors. (additional: without params, I can recall a message
opening saying "minimum of OpenGl 4.1 or 4.3(?) is required, try -opengl3".
Closing that message may have unblocked the Terminal.

No logs were made from OS #1.

2# OS used: Ubuntu 17.04. Problem: After launching in whatever mode, the result
is the same. Its worse. Whole system hangs. All displays start flickering
trying to find a signal and freeze in that state / eventually give up retrying.
1. case: System freezes, with glitch from 1# OS in fullscreen. Then black.
Responsive for less than 55 seconds after init. I assume shell does not work
after time > 25 sec.
2. case: After several seconds the Monitor reappears, mouse is responding for
few seconds, then first case.
3. case: Either 1 or 2, then another reappear happens, colored in the
boot-scheme, red. Striped top down (thin lines). Looks nice, like a neat
webdesign. Followed up by hanging in blackness.

Both systems are not modified. Like, the use future kernels or amdgpu - fglrx
related. Transparent Terminals.

Much greeting, Chrizz_-Oo>

Unfortunately the problem with suspend is still there, basically the system
fails to suspend and then any attempt to suspend/reboot/shutdown results in
"There's already a shutdown or sleep operation in progress" message, so I have
to use magic sysrq keys to reboot.

I'm still not sure if it's directly related to the amdgpu driver issues, but
IIRC the problem has appeared at the same time as the backtraces noise in the
logs, and I didn't hit it with other kernels, only with the
amd-staging-drm-next branch.

It was reproducible for me on Fedora 26 and currently it's the same with the
clean installation of Fedora 27 (pre-release).

Bug ID: 102423
Summary: kwin segfaults when Alt+Tabbing with windows
thumbnails on AMDGPU
   Product: Mesa
   Version: 17.1
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Drivers/Gallium/radeonsi
  Assignee: dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org

Backtrace of the kwin crash

I use an AMD RX560 with Mesa 17.1.7 and Plasma 5.10.5 (ArchLinux).

When I use the "thumbnails" Alt+Tab style for kwin, sooner or later kwin will
segfault while alt+tabbing.
Without windows thumbnails, everything works ok.

I reported this bug on the KDE bugtracker already :
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383058

But the crash seems to come from the driver.
It happened with previous Mesa 17.1 versions too.

See the backtrace in attachment.

[Bug 196777] New: Virtual guest using video device QXL does not reach GDM

2017-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196777

Bug ID: 196777
Summary: Virtual guest using video device QXL does not reach
GDM
   Product: Drivers
   Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 4.12.5
  Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
  Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P1
 Component: Video(DRI - non Intel)
  Assignee: drivers_video-...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
  Reporter: jfrie...@hotmail.com
Regression: No

Description of problem:
When booting current Fedora 26 as a virtual guest in gnome-boxes, the system
does not reach GDM. It gets stuck during the graphical boot procedure. After
removing boot option "rhgb", the system gets frozen after attempting to launch
the graphical login manager GDM.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-4.12.5-300.fc26

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot current Fedora 26 virtual guest in gnome-boxes.

Actual results:
System gets stuck during the graphical boot procedure.

Expected results:
System launches GDM successfully.

Additional info:
- After adding boot option "nomodeset", the system launches GDM on Xorg
successfully.
- After removing "rhgb" from the kernel options and running 'startx' at run
level 3, the GNOME on Xorg session starts up as expected.
- After changing the video device from "qxl" to "virtio", the system launches
GDM on Wayland successfully.
- This issue was introduced in the 4.12.x kernel series and now also affects
4.13.x kernel series.

Clinfo output

Trying to couple mainline amdgpu driver with opencl from amdgpu-pro (installed
via Gentoo dev-libs/amdgpu-pro-opencl package). Clinfo and apps see the opencl
but when trying to create a command queue driver returns CL_OUT_OF_HOST_MEMORY.
(My previous attempts end up with clinfo crash, so it is an obvious progress).
The same behavior is reported on Ubuntu 16.04.3 as you may see here
