https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99857 --- Comment #9 from Andrey Grodzovsky --- What i meant is i looked at the dmesg which was already attached to the ticket. Anyway, as I said, even 4.15 is a bit old, so I would advise to give a try to latest kernel. And if the problem is still there obviously attach dmesg. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ dri-devel mailing list dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/dri-devel

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99857 --- Comment #8 from copperly --- How did you get my dmesg? I never posted it (I signed up for bugzilla just so I could add to this thread, I have never used this before) and I was wondeering if upgrading the kernel before it has been tested by linux mint would there be a high risk of breaking my system. I'm using this for school and I need it to be stable. here is my system info as supplied by the "system info" app https://docs.google.com/document/d/19_EjAlX9rYrC-yc5zgImLRPaHlZTFl5IJeFy1NJ90OM/edit?usp=sharing (I am willing to send more command outputs if needed) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ dri-devel mailing list dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/dri-devel

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99857 --- Comment #7 from Andrey Grodzovsky --- Well, your dmesg shows 4.9 kernel which is really old, so I would give a try. If you still have it on 4.18 a new log can be more useful to look at. I think you can always just manually install *.deb packages on your system without any distro upgrades. Just try directly installing packages from here using sudo dpkg -i *.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.18/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ dri-devel mailing list dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/dri-devel

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99857 --- Comment #6 from copperly --- I am running 4.15.0-33-generic, which is up to date with cinnamon's repositories. Should I really try to upgrade? I beleive when I was on kubuntu and having the same problem I was running 4.17 or 4.18. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ dri-devel mailing list dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/dri-devel

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99857 --- Comment #4 from copperly --- I have a Lenovo Ideapad 320-15abr with an AMD Radeon R7 M265 2 GB and whenever I suspend in kubuntu 18.04 (what I had before) and more recently linux mint cinnamon 19 it will freeze and display a very garbled screen. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ dri-devel mailing list dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/dri-devel

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99857 --- Comment #3 from Nayan Deshmukh --- I am unable to reproduce the error that you are facing. I also have a dell inspiron 5548, but it did not freeze on suspending with 4.9.9. You have a bios which is more recent than what I have, so it could be a reason for this problem. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99857 Bug ID: 99857 Summary: Radeon R7 M260/M265 *ERROR* amdgpu asic reset failed - Suspending notebook freezes it Product: DRI Version: XOrg git Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: DRM/AMDgpu Assignee: dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: edersondiso...@hotmail.com Created attachment 129735 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=129735&action=edit dmesg Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron with a Radeon R7 M260/M265 [Topaz XT] - as reported by lspci, and I'm having problems after suspending it - by closing the lid and opening it again - notebook freezes, so I need to reboot it. Noticed some AMDGPU related errors on dmesg, which made me suspect of this driver. And in fact, blacklisting it prevented freeze after suspending. Attached is `dmesg`. Please let me know if there's something else I can do to help.
