It's been in the kernel for a while..

2.6.21 has it but I've no idea when it went in..

Dave.

i915tex prerequisites

2007-07-26 Thread Sergio Monteiro Basto
Since last email about this subject (3 of July) , I had installed
i915tex on my laptop , and I had working without problems .

Michel suggest when install linux-agp-compat instead of delete
Module.symvers
I append the Module(s).symvers file generated by linux-agp-compat
to the kernel's file of the same name with cat >> before building the
DRM.
And works quite well.
So this could be add mesa/linux-agp-compat/README

2nd - will linux-agp-compat enter in kernel main stream ?

Thanks,

OK, the problem is that the latest Intel driver disables Tiling on i915 (due to
XV corruption and lockup). Disabled tiling of depth and back buffers causes
terrible slow down. So this bug can be closed.

I close this bug, as I noticed I had DisableIRQ activated. I deactivated it and
the crashes are gone. As there is also a cd-burner that from time to time seems
to cause an IRQ storm and as this seemed to be tied to the activation of X I
blamed it on the via driver and deactivated the IRQ. Further testing showed,
that accessing the burner shut down the storm.

Please excuse the noise.

Yes the linux-agp-compat is installed. The working logs attached above use the
same agpgart and intel-agp as the crashing one.

Looks fine... can you try isolating the problem with git-bisect?

Maybe you're not getting hardware acceleration. Please attach (as opposed to
