http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6893 --- Comment #20 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-03-28 01:27 --- (In reply to comment #19) > Any updates on this problem please, Per comment #17, I suspect that mythfrontend is trying to use the DRM sync-to-vblank facilities without the DRM having been properly initialized by the X server. http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6893 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What|Removed |Added CC||[EMAIL PROTECTED] --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-01-31 20:59 --- I've encountered the same issue as the original bug reporter. I'm using 2.6.18.3 with a Radeon 9800 card. I get the error whenever I use live tv or play a recording via mythfrontend. I was previously using 2.6.10 with the same hardware/software and did not encounter this error. Removing the radeon kernel module makes the error go away but also takes away my hardware acceleration, etc. Here's the oops, please let me know if I can provide more information: BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0004 printing eip: c0120ff4 *pde = Oops: 0002 [#1] Modules linked in: radeonfb radeon joydev usbhid usbkbd ivtv saa7127 msp3400 saa7115 tuner bttv video_buf ir_common btcx_risc firmware_class cx2341x tveeprom ati_remote usbvnetr i2c_ali15x3 snd_pcm_oss snd_mixer_oss snd_cmipci gameport snd_opl3_lib snd_hwdep CPU:0 EIP:0060:[]Tainted: P VLI EFLAGS: 00010046 (2.6.18.3 #15) EIP is at add_wait_queue+0x10/0x1d eax: c49d59f8 ebx: ecx: c2913ef0 edx: c2913ee4 esi: 0246 edi: 0005b1bf ebp: esp: c2913eb0 ds: 007b es: 007b ss: 0068 Process mythfrontend (pid: 9204, ti=c2912000 task=c15ab030 task.ti=c2912000) Stack: c2913ee4 c49d5800 d15ec7b0 c2913f28 0246 c15ab030 c010fea5 cf455620 ca10f398 c029a3aa c15ab030 c010fea5 cf455620 c2913f24 b00bd130 003a c49d5800 c49d5800 Call Trace: [] radeon_driver_vblank_wait+0xa7/0x126 [radeon] [] default_wake_function+0x0/0xc [] drm_stub_open+0xa5/0x113 [] default_wake_function+0x0/0xc [] drm_wait_vblank+0x16c/0x1ad [] drm_ioctl+0x145/0x17c [] drm_wait_vblank+0x0/0x1ad [] dma_release_declared_memory+0x2c/0x2e [] do_ioctl+0x3d/0x42 [] vfs_ioctl+0x178/0x186 [] sys_ioctl+0x2a/0x41 [] sysenter_past_esp+0x56/0x79 [] dma_release_declared_memory+0x2c/0x2e Code: 00 00 00 00 e8 83 84 25 00 89 d8 5b c3 90 90 83 ec 10 89 00 89 40 04 83 c4 10 c3 56 83 22 fe 53 9c 5e fa 8b 18 8d 4a 0c 89 5a 0c <89> 4b 04 89 08 89 41 04 56 9d 5b --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. - Using Tomcat but need to do more?
