 So from my point of view it should be safe for the via drm to go into the
 kernel.

Okay I'll try and sort out a patch ASAP, just came back from some deep sea
fishing, need to go to bed now :-)

VIA update

Hi!
I've commited the rudimentary command verifyer in the via drm now, and 
also altered the
Unichrome DDX to export MMIO read-only. Hopefully we'll update Xorg with 
the Unichrome
driver soon as well.

So from my point of view it should be safe for the via drm to go into 
the kernel.

The Mesa driver might need to correct for version number bumps.
