Unfortunately the developer Paul has now left but didn't manage to finish the
development so this remains a good idea in need of a developer. If anyone has
the time please feel free to volunteer.

 Improvment to OAI-PMH + OAI-ORE harvesting support

 Key: DS-634
 URL: https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-634
 Project: DSpace
  Issue Type: New Feature
  Components: OAI-PMH
Affects Versions: 1.6.2
 Environment: All
Reporter: Paul Brindley
Assignee: Robin Taylor

At the moment the OAI-PMH + OAI-ORE harvester will allow the admin to harvest
from an external source and to set up a scheduled harvest. However it would
be nice to be able to specify different frequencys for different collections.

I tried this on a Unix platform and it didn't work. Maybe it would work on

I have had a wee look over the code and I am not sure I would be comfortable
with the code being committed to trunk as it is. It has been developed for the
JSPUI but most of the code is in the form Java scriptlets rather than jsp tags.
In addition there are actually some Java classes nested in the scriptlets.
Having said that I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from downloading the zip
file and making use of the code at their own site, or even using it as the
basis for further development.

Cheers, Robin.

This set of files adds a remote log viewer to DSpace, it resides on the
navigation menu in the administration page. It allows an administrator to
view the dspace logs without having to have filesystem access to the
 webserver.

[Dspace-devel] [DuraSpace JIRA] Commented: (DS-796) Adding a Community throws ORA-0001 error

Bert Lensch commented on DS-796:

According to one of our Oracle DBA's, trying to add a new community or
sub-community tries to add a duplicate user to the DSPACE_USER.SYS table which
is causing the constraint violation. In what situation would this workflow
occur? And how can we fix this problem?

[Dspace-devel] In unit tests, how does the database get instantiated?

2011-01-11 Thread Mark H. Wood
I'm trying to run a single test class manually:

  java -cp $CP \
org.junit.runner.JUnitCore \
org.dspace.authenticate.IPMatcherTest

and it blows up when trying to load the registries, apparently because
there are no tables into which to load them. I've dug around a bit
and can't see how the test h2 database gets created. AbstractUnitTest
seems to assume that this is already done. Duuuh, what am I missing?

(Working on DS-642 and thought I may as well test IPMatcher by
learning to build a JUnit test suite. We need one for it anyway.)

[Dspace-devel] [DuraSpace JIRA] Commented: (DS-796) Adding a Community throws ORA-0001 error

2011-01-11 Thread Graham Triggs (DuraSpace JIRA)

Graham Triggs commented on DS-796:

I wouldn't want to contradict your DBA, but that description doesn't make any
sense.

DSPACE_USER is the login / schema that you are using for the database, and
SYS_C007905 is the name of the constraint, which you would need to look up in
the data dictionary to see what it is operating on. ie:

select UCC.CONSTRAINT_NAME, UCC.COLUMN_NAME, UC.CONSTRAINT_TYPE,
UC.SEARCH_CONDITION, UC2.TABLE_NAME as REFERENCES_TABLE
from USER_CONS_COLUMNS UCC, USER_CONSTRAINTS UC, USER_CONSTRAINTS UC2
where UCC.CONSTRAINT_NAME = UC.CONSTRAINT_NAME
and UC.R_CONSTRAINT_NAME = UC2.CONSTRAINT_NAME(+)
and UCC.CONSTRAINT_NAME='SYS_C007905'

However, looking at your stack trace, the constraint appears to be violated
whilst processing HandleManager.createHandle() - which is assigning a handle
(prefix + next value in handle sequence) to the community. This would occur if
you already have handles in the handle table, but the sequence is not set to
provide the next value as being at least one higher than the largest suffix of
your already allocated handles.

If you recreate handle_seq to start with a value that avoids collisions, you
should get past this error.

[Dspace-devel] DSpace Developers Meeting Tomorrow Agenda

2011-01-11 Thread Tim Donohue
All,

As usual, we have a DSpace Developers Meeting tomorrow (Weds, Jan 12) in
the #duraspace IRC channel at 20:00 UTC. To determine your local time,
check the world clock:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?hour=20min=0sec=0p1=0

The agenda is posted on our Developer meetings page at:

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Developer+Meetings

The notes from last week's meeting are also available off of the
Meeting Archives area of that page.

As always, all our meetings are public. We welcome any developers or
non-developers to attend or just read along with the chat discussions.

If you are unable to attend, you can always add your own notes/thoughts
on any agenda item to the above wiki page.

Thanks,

Tim Donohue
