RE item 3 on the list above, there is this project: http://projects.freelibrary.info/solr-iso639-filter/ Which is very Maven-friendly, it would be worth investigating adding it as a default facet.

I already started asking about this in DS-971 comments, but since that's now resolved, I'm filing it as a new ticket. I would like to have some new Discovery facet types. These are only suggestions, so the implementation may be different, but I tried to include the goals which I wanted to achieve. 1) fulltext - items have/have not a bitstream attach...

This would be useful for me also. I have a hacked implementation of a language facet as described above but it really isn't pretty. I'd also like to be able to facet by access -- eg is/is not readable for anonymous group.

Assignee: Kevin Van de Velde
  Labels: discovery, facets, solr

I already started asking about this in DS-971 comments, but since that's now

I would like to have some new Discovery facet types. These are only
suggestions, so the implementation may be different, but I tried to include
the goals which I wanted to achieve.
 1) fulltext - items have/have not a bitstream attached
 2) has metadata field - 2 facet values - items having/not having this
 metadata field
 3) mapping (language) - metadata values are en, es, de, but filter should
display English, Spanish, German, this should also be localizable
 4) regexp (metadata value) - facet for items whose metadata value matches
 regexp (or, alternatively contains xyz)
 4) regexp (bitstream name) - facet for items whose bitstream name matches
 regexp (or, alternatively contains xyz)
