Re: [dspace-tech] Enabling OAI

2015-11-02 Thread Claudia Jürgen

Hi Makanda,

are you updating your oai index regularly e.g. as a cron job see
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC4x/Scheduled+Tasks+via+Cron

If you do run
[dpace]/bin/dspace oai -c import
are there any errors?

Hope this helps

Claudia Jürgen

2015-11-02 Thread a.bollini

Yes, it can be done.Put a configuration with the syntax below in the dspace.cfg
webui.listitem. .columns = dc.title (title),...
You can see all the configuration parameters supported in the
BrowseItemListTag.doStartTag method in dspace-jspui

[dspace-tech] Dspace is down

2015-11-02 Thread Andy Tang
Our server seems to have some problem. We are in redhat linux server 6. I
find dspace
link(http://library.kilgore.edu:8081/jspui/browse?year=1931=1=dateissued=80_by=2=ASC=Find)

does not work. I already restarted httpd and tomcat service. However, the
link of dspace still failed.

I don't want to reboot the server. It does solve the problem previously.
However our website is also on this server. If rebooting it, it will
influence many person. Does anyone have better idea how to start this
dspace? It must stuck in somewhere. What kinds of problem might it be?

Any help is appreciated!

I also check the log today in tomcat/catalina log. On 10:25 am today, there
are many severe error happened.
On 10:25:47 am, it said "Nov 2, 2015 10:25:47 AM

SEVERE: Failed to start connector [Connector[HTTP/1.1-8081]]
LifecycleException: service.getName(): "Catalina"; Protocol handler start
failed: java.net.BindException: Address already in use :8081"

What is that meaning?

I put the Catalina error log happened on Nov 2, 2015 10:25:38 to Nov 2,
2015 10:25:47 in a text file and attached. Hope some guy gave some guidance

Re: [dspace-tech] Dspace is down

2015-11-02 Thread Tim Donohue

Hi Andy,

The error is saying that port 8081 is already being used by another
application/service and Tomcat is unable to use it:

"java.net.BindException: Address already in use :8081"

Likely something else is using port 8081, or your Tomcat has refused to
shutdown and is "hanging" on port 8081.

You'll need to figure out what else is running on that port, and either
decide to use a different port, or kill/stop whatever application is
using 8081.

Good luck,

Tim

Re: [dspace-tech] Dspace is down

2015-11-02 Thread Andy Tang
Hi Tim,

I use "# netstat -tulpn | grep 80" to get all applications who use ports
beginning from 80.
8081 port does be used by java.

[root@library Desktop]# netstat -tulpn | grep 80
tcp0  0 :::80   :::*
 LISTEN  20141/httpd
tcp0  0 :::8080 :::*
 LISTEN  2810/java
tcp0  0 :::8081 :::*
 LISTEN  2287/java
tcp0  0 :::127.0.0.1:8005   :::*
 LISTEN  20104/java
tcp0  0 :::8009 :::*
 LISTEN  2287/java
udp0  0 fe80::f21f:afff:fed0:dcb:123 :::*
 2857/ntpd

Then, I use " ls -l /proc/2287/exe" find it is used by java.

 #[root@library Desktop]# ls -l /proc/2287/exe
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 dspace dspace 0 Oct  6 16:53 /proc/2287/exe ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.45.x86_64/jre/bin/java

Can I shut down the java on 2287 port? Or is this java which is responsible
to startup dspace?

Any help is appreciated!

Andy

Re: [dspace-tech] Dspace is down

2015-11-02 Thread Andy Tang
Hi Tim,

I appreciate your help so much! You and Helix give me a bright light in
darkness.

I use "*# netstat -tulpn | grep 80*" to get all applications who use ports
beginning from 80.
8081 port does be used by java.

[root@library Desktop]# netstat -tulpn | grep 80
tcp0  0 :::80   :::*
 LISTEN  20141/httpd
tcp0  0 :::8080 :::*
 LISTEN  2810/java
tcp0  0 :::8081 :::*
 LISTEN  2287/java
tcp0  0 :::127.0.0.1:8005   :::*
 LISTEN  20104/java
tcp0  0 :::8009 :::*
 LISTEN  2287/java
udp0  0 fe80::f21f:afff:fed0:dcb:123 :::*
 2857/ntpd

Then, I use "*#ls -l /proc/2287/exe*" to double check that it is used by
java indeed.
 #[root@library Desktop]# ls -l /proc/2287/exe
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 dspace dspace 0 Oct  6 16:53 /proc/2287/exe ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.45.x86_64/jre/bin/java

Third step, I use "*#**fuser -k 8081/tcp*" to kill the process who uses
8081 port.
[root@library Desktop]# fuser -k 8081/tcp 8081/tcp: 2287

The final step I run "*#service httpd restart*" and "*#service tomcat
restart*". After that, our Dspace link (
http://library.kilgore.edu:8081/jspui/browse?year=1931=1=dateissued=80_by=2=ASC=Find)

runs without problem.

I am happy that the Dspace is recovered without rebooting the server.
However, could anyone tell me why after a period(3 weeks or 1 month), our
dspace server has the problem like that?

Thanks!

Re: [dspace-tech] How to change the default language?

2015-11-02 Thread Andrea Schweer

Hi,

On 30/10/15 05:17, Natalia Queiroz wrote:

I want to change the default language (us) to Portuguese (pt_BR).

How is that possible?

Since Brazilian Portuguese is one of the supported languages, all you
should need to do is set the default locale configuration option to
pt_BR. This is done in dspace.cfg; the exact line depends on your
version of DSpace, but it looks like this:
https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/master/dspace/config/dspace.cfg#L1363

This is documented here (for DSpace 5.x):
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC5x/Localization+L10n

cheers,
Andrea
