Re: [dspace-tech] ORCID Integration: Admin Edit Item

2016-10-17 Thread Stefanie Behnke
Dear Christian,

thank you for your answer. I have double checked all. During submission
author lookup works as expected, but on the Admin Edit Item page there is
no "lookup" button.

Any further idea?

Thanking you in advance
Stefanie

[dspace-tech] DSpace 6.0 Release Candidate #4 is available now. 6.0 final coming soon.

2016-10-17 Thread Mark Wood
The fourth release candidate of 6.0 is now available for download and
testing. 6.0-RC4 (Release Candidate #4) is a pre-release of 6.0, and we
hope that the 6.0 final release will follow closely in its footsteps.

We'd appreciate additional testers to help us verify no additional major
bugs or issues exist in the 6.0 codebase. Over the last few months, our
team of volunteer developers has been diligently resolving known major
issues that stand in the way of a 6.0 final release. We believe the 6.0
release is nearly production-ready, but could use your help in verifying
there's nothing we've overlooked.

   - Download 6.0-RC4:
   https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/releases/tag/dspace-6.0-rc4

   - You can also test this pre-release on our Demo site at
   http://demo.dspace.org/
   - 6.0 Release Notes are available at:
   https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Release+Notes
   - Hints on testing this release are still available on our 6.0 Testathon
   page:
   https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/DSpace+Release+6.0+Testathon+Page
   - XMLUI Test Plan: http://bit.ly/xmlui-test-plan
  - JSPUI Test Plan: http://bit.ly/jspui-test-plan
  - A list of remaining 6.0 "known issues" is available at

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/DSpace+Release+6.0+Status#DSpaceRelease6.0Status-TicketstoResolve

Assuming our final tests validate the stability of 6.0-RC4, we anticipate
that the 6.0 final release will be made available within the next week or
so (i.e. mid-to-late October).

If you notice any bugs or issues with 6.0-RC4, please report them
immediately to our issue tracker (https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS).
As always, we are also available to answer questions on our DSpace Tech
Support list (https://groups.google.com/d/forum/dspace-tech) or #dspace IRC
(https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/IRC).

Thanks!

Hi Michelangelo

I didn't understand why you was able to build it before and now he have
to put the jar manually in the repository again, as it is in the page that
Ivan shared with us. Did you manually delete the .m2 directory? Did you
change the configuration file to use xpdf now, it was something that you
did not setup before?

Best regards
Luiz

[dspace-tech] Showing only abstracts on search results (Mirage2)

2016-10-17 Thread Kate Deibel
We'd like to change the search results in our Mirage2 theme to show just
the first N words in abstracts. We do NOT want to show the search hits in
context as we've found this is not useful to users. I honestly thought that
the following code would suffice:

No abstract or description.

The problem is that on some items, we don't get the abstract from the
beginning. Instead, if there's a search hit in the middle of the abstract,
we still get the snippets showing the search term in context.

Do I need to turn off hit highlighting or some other feature?

Thanks!

kate

Re: [dspace-tech] DSPACE 5.1 Could not find artifact com.sun.media:jai_imageio:jar:1.0_01 in sonatype-releases

2016-10-17 Thread Michelangelo Viana
Hi helix!
Thanks to guide me to the right point!
Problem fixed!

Java Advanced Imaging Image I/O Tools already was installed on DSPACE 5.1
server, in: /usr/local/jai_imageio-1_1/lib/jai_imageio.jar
I installed it in the past (2015) and made manual settings in dspace.cfg to
enable XPDF, by copying these settings from another DSPACE 4.2 that used it
before.
Thus, to correct the lack of JAR files during the mvn build on DSPACE 5.1,
was enough following these steps:
1) Install jai_imageio-1_1/lib/jai_imageio.jar in server's local Maven
repository;
2) Install jai_core.jar library in server's local Maven repository;
After this, the DSPACE rebuild was successful.

Luiz,

I think that in the past mvn was able to download the libraries from
sonatype, but not anymore now (maybe since last quarter of 2015).
See this comment from Joel Orlina on 09/24/15 11:08 PM
(https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/MVNCENTRAL-839):
"The is no formal relationship between Maven Central and mvnrepository.com,
so I can't speak to the accuracy of their contents. That being said, I
don't believe jars for these artifacts are supposed to be available on
Maven Central. There are no jars for the other artifacts under the
com.sun.media groupId. And, if you inspect the POMs, you'll see a
distributionManagement element specifying the download URL for the
binaries. This is the case for many older Sun artifacts, which had
licensing prohibiting their distribution anywhere other than an official
Sun website."

[dspace-tech] No policies found for this object.

2016-10-17 Thread Bill Kelm

We are noticing in some of the items we are curating, that for all of the
items in a record, there are 'No policies found for this object.". So
basically it's been added without any of the read/write policies added to a
single bundle?

Has anyone experience this before?

And it what log would one be able to track when an item has policies added
to a bundle?

Thanks,
Bill K.

[dspace-tech] Re: Showing only abstracts on search results (Mirage2)

2016-10-17 Thread Kate Deibel
As is typical with much of debugging, I figured out the solution to my
problem soon after posting. It was a combination of things.

1. I had to turn off hit highlighting in the discovery.xml under the
config/spring/api directory.
2. Rebuild the index with the -b flag (-f might work)
3. Clear the Cocoon cache.

After all that, we no longer get the abstract in the middle snippets. Yay!
