[dspace-tech] DSpace 7.x how to add navbar menu item to link to website?

It's an OS issue and for sure it's fixable but without more in-depth 
details I'm shooting in the dark. Trying to help. Try the steps you see 
below in the sequence you see it:

1) sudo truncate -s 0 
/var/lib/ubuntu-release-upgrader/release-upgrade-available
2) sudo dpkg-reconfigure dash
** make sure to choose no when prompted if you want to (Use dash as the 
default system shell).
3) ping changelogs.ubuntu.com (make sure if it's resolvable.). If for any 
reason it can't be resolved double check your DNS settings in 
/etc/resolv.conf. You can use google public dns server 8.8.8.8 temporarily.
4) sudo shutdown -r now
5) apt update -y && apt upgrade -y && shutdown -r now
6) You have to upgrade your server to a newer version. You need to.

Yes!! That's it.  After i put the reference of filtertype on searchFilters and 
sidebarFacets, and then execute "[dspace]/bin/dspace index-discovery -b" and 
restart the tomcat;the filter "Type" appears.

Problem solved. Thank you very very much Eike!. I had been stuck for a long 
time on this problem.

Hello everybody.  In order to enable the filter "dc.type" at section of search 
in the user interface. 
  After reading and understanding the steps to enable the  "Configurable 
Entities" , according to the guide, I was finally able to enable them!. 
According to the guide you must enable a defined entity model, it MUST be 
imported into the DSpace database; this is achieved by using the 
"initialize-entities" script. then through the command console I enter the 
following statement: sudo /dspace/bin/dspace initialize-entities -f 
/dspace/config/entities/relationship-types.xml 
   Everything is fine until here, But when I want filtering by "dc.type" in the 
search section; the "Item Type" filter appears; but this filter refers to 
filter by "dspace.entity.type". So when I doing click on the filter "Item 
type", shows only the types of entities that exist ( in this example are Person 
and Publication), and not the types of files  ( for example a book, an article, 
an Learning object, etc) that i select when creating an item.  
 
  When i create an item, i always select a type of item ( for example a book, 
an article, an Learning object, etc).

[dspace-tech] Dspace 6 proxy related issue

Dear All,

I am facing an issue in DSpace 6.3 running on Debian 10. It works fine if I
check DSpace on any external network. But my institute premises have a
proxy server setup. So while opening PDF files, the DSpace is giving proxy
server errors. I try to set proxy in dspace.cfg file, for e.g.

http.proxy.host = 10.10.10.40
http.proxy.port = 8080

But it did not help and same proxy error while accessing PDF files. It is
very appreciable if anyone can help me out with how to pass our local proxy
settings in dspace.
