Re: [dspace-tech] [7.6] Problem approving the item

2023-11-01 Thread Michel Montenegro
Debora and friends, where and how can I change the steps (Configuration
file, database, etc.) to remove the need for approval (Automatic approval)?
or reduce the number of steps? We're not finding where or how to do this.

We are using the DSpace 7.6 default (We didn't even know it had these step
options). No one can add any items, as they don't get past the approval
phase.

[dspace-tech] automatic membership in the LDAP specialgroup

2023-11-01 Thread cpgr...@gmail.com
In our DS5 setup everyone who logs in via LDAP (and is therefore a member
of our University community) is a 'Registered User' and can submit items to
our DS5.

We've set up the same configuration in our DS7 test sever and discovered we
can still log in via LDAP, but don't seem to be members of the group for
Registered Users although we copied our LDAP authentication configuration
to the new server. When I log in as myself, in my user profile, I see I am
a member of the special group in DS5; I do not see this in DS7. Since I am
now not in the Registered Users group I cannot submit an item.

A minor point is the wording that is used when I can't submit a new item.
Could it be something less awkward than "You have not the privilege to make
a new submission". Where is that wording set in the code?

Re: [dspace-tech] How to implement Finnish alphabetical sorting

2023-11-01 Thread Barunes Padhy
Hi,

Thank you so much for the reply.
To implement our change, we went into OrderFormatTitleMarc21.java

and then imported LocaleOrderingFilter.java

into it with Finnish locale set. After that, we modified the filters in
OrderFormatTitleMarc21.java

to have LowerCaseAndTrim, LocaleOrderingFilter, MARC21InitialArticleWord
and StripLeadingNonAlphaNum (In that order). This seemed to have worked for
titles. However, when we try to do similar steps for OrderFormatAuthor.java
,

it does not work. In OrderFormatAuthor.java
,

we try to set the filters to only have LowerCaseAndTrim and
LocaleOrderingFilter (in that order). We also tried to explicitly define
this in our dspace.cfg like so:

plugin.named.org.dspace.sort.OrderFormatDelegate= \
org.dspace.sort.OrderFormatTitleMarc21=title, \
org.dspace.sort.OrderFormatAuthor=author

However, it has not helped.

Thanks and Regards,
Barunes Padhy

Re: [dspace-tech] After server down, the community, collection and item are not showing although exist in database

2023-11-01 Thread 'Eike Martin Löhden' via DSpace Technical Support

Hei,

did you try (re)index your content: [dspace]/bin/dspace index-discovery -b
The "-b" means, the whole repository is going to be reindexed. If you
have a lot of data inside you might want try without this option first.

Kind regards,
Eike.
