Re: [Dspace-tech] Autoregister is not working

2012-10-02 Thread João Melo
Hello Sergio,

your DSpace seems to be communicating with the LDAP server, but the
authentication fails with Result = 5 = COMPARE_FALSE.

http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/CDS/cli/8.0/Configuration_Command_File_Reference-Access_Log_and_Connection_Code_Reference-LDAP_Result_Codes.html

Maybe you are providing a wrong password. The ldap password comparision has
defined in the RFC (
http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-behera-ldap-password-policy-10#section-9.4)
could answer with that kind of response.

Maybe decreasing the log level could help you.

Re: [Dspace-tech] How to deactivate "Recent Submissions" from DSpace XMLUI?

2012-10-02 Thread Calloni, Rodrigo
Hello Peter

Thanks for your answer. I tried to set recent.submissions.count = 0 but that
didn’t change my UI.

Is this some kind of parameter that doesn’t work with XMLUI?

Best regards
Rodrigo

Hi Rodrigo,

You can deactivate Recent Submissions, by showing zero recent submissions.

edit dspace.cfg, and change that to zero.
# how many recent submissions should be displayed at any one time
recent.submissions.count = 5

Hello

We have DSPACE 1.6.2 and XMLUI

I would like to know how can we deactivate the “Recent Submissions” section
that shows up when we open our DSpace home page (and all collections Home pages
too).

Due to performance issues with our Search engine this section is making the
performance of the system in showing the Home page very poor.

We would like to hide this until the Search engine is fixed.

Best regards

Hi All

I am trying to add dc.description.abstract as a search filter.

I have edited spring-dspace-addon-discovery-configuration-services.xml
and added it in there. I have also edited my messages.xml file and
added
an entry in there for the display.

I have restarted DSpace and run {dspace-dir}/bin/dspace
update-discovery-index, and now when I run a search, I have the option
of adding "Abstract" as a filter, but when I enter anything in this
field, the search returns no results.

I have taken a specific item and added a unique word from its abstract
as a search filter, but no results returned. It is as if the
dc.desctiption.abstract has not been indexed.

I have also tried running
 {dspace-dir}/bin/dspace index-init
 {dspace-dir}/bin/dspace index -r -f
but still no luck.

Any ideas on how to make this work will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards.

Shaun Donovan
