Hello All,

Why I can't find the "Advanced Search" link in my Dspace installed version 4.2 
using the Mirage theme?

Please advise whether I have to enable it somewhere?

I had exactly the same problem.

go to http://your.dspace.org/DRI/  (Digital repository interface of dspace
homepage)

and then check if /simpleURL == /advancedURL
/discover
/discover

If they are equal then that's why advance search link doesn't show up.
Check this:

Hello Nada,

Thank you so much for your prompt response. However, if I got you well, I went 
to the DRI page but I got the following exception:

org.apache.cocoon.ResourceNotFoundException: Page cannot be found

Do you think there is something wrong with my Dspace installation? Is it 
incomplete?

Or I should access the DRI using another way?

I have some confusion regarding LC (Library of Congress) Authority control
services provided by dspace.

So far what I understood from dspace documentations, that dspace
implemented Library of Congress Authority *Names *services .

What about if I want to control Item subjects (dc.subject)  using Library
of Congress *Subject headings*?!!

Is that supported by dspace?

Hi,
Turns out the issue is to do with the TCP layer.
Our network guy has isolated the problem to the MTU size, "jumbo 
packets" are the issue apparently.

[Dspace-tech] Items appear in Browse By but not in search

[Dspace-tech] Add language to repeatable metadata in input form

Hi all,

I'm trying to enable a functionality and I don't know if it's possible 
to configure it or I should modify code. I have a repeatable metadata 
(dc.abstract) in input form, and I want to select the language of every 
entry of this metadata. For example, I would like to entry the abstract 
in 3 different languages and specify the language of each one, but now, 
with the default config, I must enter the 3 values and then, when the 
item has been sent, modify it and add the language from admin options. 
It would be more easy to users to choose the language direct into the 
input form, so someone knows any way to add this option into the form?

After sucessfully installing dspace when i restored backup. dspace url
showing "HTTP Status 404 - /jspui" I am unable to update database schema.
I restored backup as a postgres user(psql dspace < my-dspace-backup.sql)
and updated database schema as dspace user)

Errors are attached below. Thanks in advance.

You should look at input-forms.xml file in your
/dspace/config/nput-forms.xml

 

I have an example (in Russian) how to add additional language as a metadata
field http://ideafix.name/?p=1940 but you can look at pictures and code
listings to understand the format of input-forms.xml file

Thanks IdeaFix, but this is not the solution that I'm refering. Your 
solution is add another metadata (dc.language) and "tag" this item with 
one of these options (spanish, english,etc...), but if you have 3 
entries for dc.abstract (english, spanish and russian, for example), you 
should specify the language of each one, not the entire item. In fact, 
you can define this value language going to "Edit this item"->"Item 
metadata"->Last column, but always after you have sent the item, not in 
the input form. I don't know if now the explanation is more clear than 
before...

1.   You can open input-forms.xml and find a part:

2.   You can copy&paste it 3 times

3.   You can try to use smth or something
else to specify the language.

 

We use SAF package method to upload new data and we make all metadata in one
csv file. It is more suitable I think.

[Dspace-tech] OAI-PMH date of last modification

Hi 

I am trying to implement a centralized repository  using the
Net::OAI::Harvester module.  I am getting all the fields that I am
interested in except for the date of last modification for a given records.
I will appreciate any pointer on how I can get that using the
Net::OAI::Harvester module.
