Re: [Dspace-tech] search can't sort by date issued

2011-12-20 Thread DeVries, Joe
I believe I saw an issue like this a while back in 1.6.2, when issue date was
missing the trailing ‘Z’.

That's a very good guess! I haven't yet gotten around to building a dspace with
some more debugging around the search code to see what's actually happening,
but this is very plausible.

Looking the our DB, there were a few non-ISO format dates, and a couple nulls.
I updates the bad format dates, removed the nulls, and reindexed, but search by
date issued still doesn't work. Do all the dates need to be in a more specific
format? (like full ISO: 2000-01-12T12:13:14Z).

Thanks,

Hi Lewatle,

You can download the latest version of Vireo here:

 and the source here:
http://vireo.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/vireo/tags/1.2.1/?view=tar.

Please note, the current release of Vireo is based on DSpace 1.5.1. However,
Texas Digital Library is getting ready to release Vireo on DSpace 1.8.x within
the next month.

You can find instructions for installing Vireo or building it from source in
the ‘docs’ folder. User documentation is located here:

Re: [Dspace-tech] SWORD deposit issue using DSpace and Vireo

2012-02-01 Thread DeVries, Joe
Hi Diwakar,
We have seen cases in the past where particular submissions can't be deposited.
In some cases this is due to large file sizes. In others it is unclear, but
it could be related to a known UTF-8 bug, which we have a fix for and is
currently being tested. In both of these cases, we export the submission from
Vireo and import it into the IR manually.

If you are unable to deposit any submissions, and haven't recently changed
anything in Vireo, then the problem is likely external, for example
authenticating with your IR.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact Texas Digital
Library at supp...@tdl.org<mailto:supp...@tdl.org>, or 855-495-4317.

Thanks,
Joe DeVries

Subject: [Dspace-tech] SWORD deposit issue using DSpace and Vireo

We have a target DSpace 1.7.2 instance and a client DSpace 1.5.2 instance
(Vireo ETD management system by Texas Digital Library).

SWORD deposit from the client to the server was working fine for last several
weeks and all of a sudden it stopped working yesterday.

This is what I have found so far:

The SWORD client creates the package, makes a request for the Service document.
It receives the service doc from the server. However, it looks like it just
gets stuck there after that. I don't see any error messages on the target
server nor on the client. The username/password for the SWORD deposit user is
working correctly as well.

I would appreciate if some SWORD experts could shed some light into this issue.
