[Dspace-tech] File upload limit

Does anyone know how we can set the limit of the size of files to be uploaded? 
We have files as large as 1 GB that need uploading to collections using the 
front end.

 

We are looking for clear instructions (e.g., go this such-and-such file on 
such-and-such folder, and edit such-and-such line) if such thing is possible.

[Dspace-tech] Importing Metadata Format

We are trying to import metadata to a collection. There is an Import Metadata 
page under Adminster | Import Metadata. It asks for a file. We cannot find 
documentation on the format of the file or an example of how the file should 
look like. Is there documentation or a sample file?

[Dspace-tech] FW: IT help request (hire) for DSPace

Our Institute (www.bethmardutho.org  )
managed to install DSpace on a Windows machine running IIS. DSpace runs
fine from http://localhost  . So far we don't know
how to get IIS to communicate with Tomcat. We followed the following
link, kindly provided by Stuart Lewis on this list:

 

 - http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/webserver_howto/iis.html

 

While all steps succeeded until step 10 (the tomcat filter is marked
with a green up-pointing arrow), we could not take it further. The
object is to have the URL http://ebetharke.bethmardutho.org
  point to the DSpace instance.

 

Our IT team (and another one we hired) did not succeed. We are now at a
point looking to hire a DSpace expert who can help us. If anyone is
interested, or can recommend a commercial entity that can help, please

[Dspace-tech] IIS & DC Shelfmark identifier

I just installed an instance of DSpace on a Windows machine running IIS. I have 
two questions:
 
1. Is there a documentation on how to have IIS communicate with Tomcat? I have 
DSpace running on the machine from http://localhost, but I need to be able to 
access it via a URL like www.abc.org.
 
2. Is there a way to add a Dublin Core element for "Call number" or 
"shelfmark", or shall I just use dc.identifier.other. If I use the latter, can 
I rename it to "Call Number"? How?
