[Dspace-tech] DSpace 1.8.0 - problem with XMLUI Mirage theme: page subjects are shown twice?

2011-12-15 Thread Meijer, Rob
Hello!

I managed to install DSpace 1.8.0 on RHEL6 successfully. The jspui browser
webpage looks ok, but when I activate the XMLUI Mirage theme the xmlui browser
webpage suddenly show subjects twice? When I look at the source of the webpage,
f.i. this section "Enter some text in the box below to
search DSpace." comes twice and further on the same webpage also the
section "Select a community to browse its
collections." comes twice... What causes this effect and how can I resolve
this problem?

Kind regards, Rob Meijer

Re: [Dspace-tech] DSpace 1.8.0 - problem with XMLUI Mirage

2011-12-16 Thread Meijer, Rob
Hi,

It doesn't matter if I enable or disable Discovery and the set the right value
to recent.submissions.count = 0 in dspace.cfg.
Still the (central) webpage content is shown twice...

Hi Peter,

Yes, I've restarted tomcat. Even restarted the server.
Followed your suggestions, but no effect!

Hi Rob,

Have you restarted your servlet container (i.e. tomcat)?
You always need to restart to make a config change apply.

Another possibility could be caching. Try appending some junk to the url you
are visiting, such as ?somerandomstring or
&anotherRandomStringWhenThereIsAlreadyAParameter and see if the page changes.

Re: [Dspace-tech] install Snoobi web analytics tool in DSpace 1.8.0 on Tomcat 6 webserver

Hello,
Thanks for your prompt response. We use XMLUI, so I will have a look at the
templates involved!

Yes. We have already added Snoobi Analytics to DSpace (JSPUI and XMLUI).
To integrate with Snoobi first there is a question:

- Do you use XMLUI or JSPUI?

For the JSPUI the solution is simple, sending you as an attachment. Apply the
patch to the DSpace source:

$ cd [DSPACE-SOURCE]
$ patch -p0 < [PATH-TO]/snoobi-jspui.patch

then must edit the [DSPACE-SOURCE]/dspace/config/dspace.cfg and add the
following line (at the end):

lyncode.snoobi.id<http://lyncode.snoobi.id> =

The XMLUI interface, despite of more powerful adds extra complexity to this
kind of changes because of the templates mechanism, so if you use XMLUI you
will need to understand about XMLUI templates and change it.

PS - You'll need to package (mvn) and update (ant) your DSpace source
distribution.

2012-06-22 Thread Meijer, Rob
Hi,

Thanks to you the Snoobi Analytics in our DSpace works now!
We added the tag to our custom XMLUI theme (based on Mirage):

=>
[DSPACE-SRC]/dspace/modules/xmlui/src/main/webapp/themes/[XMLUI-theme]/lib/xsl/core/page-structure.xsl

After repackaging and updating DSpace, job done!
