Hi Sisay, Peter's suggestion will work, and is perhaps the best option. Remove any columns that you are not editing. However what might be happening is that Excel is converting the date string to a date-formatted cell, and when it saves it back to the CSV it saves it in a different format. DSpace will then replace the date format with the new version from Excel. You might find it easier to use OpenOffice to edit the CSVs, as you can more easily tell it to use UTF-8 encoding, and to leave dates alone, than you can in Excel.
