I believe Paul Cockings offered some domain name(s). I suggest using CACert for the SSL certificate (I can get this done if needed). We could consider sourceforge or the like of course. My own experience is that sourceforge servers are a bit overloaded (slow). But they do offer useful groupware features out of the box... And if some person who is helping right now drops out later, then we're stuck without eg a webserver... If we choose for sourceforge, then we have all the services, and don't need to find people/time to maintain them. Are we going to do it ourselves or not? In the past, several people showed up and said they were willing to setup basic services like subversion/git, a mailing list, bug tracking system, etc. Could those people come forward now? I think it's time. Personally I'm offering to install and maintain one of the above services, I have experience in this kind of system administration, just not the time to maintain _all_ those services. [dspam-users] Dspam not reconnecting to mysql database when connection is dropped
Hello, When the connection between dspam and the mysql server gets dropped, dspam makes no attempt to setup a new one. Instead dspam just processes mails without filtering them. Is there anyone who knows how to tell dspam to reconnect when the database connection is dropped, or at least stop accepting new mail? Is there a patch around for this issue? Re: [dspam-users] Simple Question about DeliveryProto
Yes, you set DeliveryProto and DeliveryHost to the postfix smtp server, on another port than where your incoming mail came in. Then you configure postfix to deliver the mail using dovecot's "deliver" program. Don't forget to set TrustedDeliveryAgent "/usr/sbin/sendmail" (otherwise dspam won't have a way to get the mail back to postfix). Postfix is configured with content_filter=lmtp:inet:127.0.0.1:24 and dspam is configured with DeliveryHost 127.0.0.1, DeliveryPort 10026 and DeliveryProto SMTP. (and postfix accepts mail there :)). I'm also using the mysql driver: StorageDriver /usr/lib/dspam/libmysql_drv.so (and I configured MySQLServer etc). All the rest is pretty standard I think. [dspam-users] email lost?
Hello, I'm testing dspam out, but then I got this in my logs. Dspam gave an error, but it still says it got the mail to postfix. And now the mail is lost... Shouldn't dspam tell it didn't have it, to prevent this loss of mail? [dspam-users] dspam as relay for multiple servers
Hello, Does anyone know how to setup dspam as a smtp relay for _multiple_ regular smtp servers? So the regular smtp servers relay to dspam, and somehow dspam should be smart enouph to be able to forward the tagged message to the original regular smtp server. It seems it's only possible to set 1 general forward server, not several depending on where it came from... Thanks! Alexander !DSPAM:1011,48ef5f7c150927643141691!

My apologies, I was a bit confused. I could reproduce the error I found earlier. The problem is that the configure script doesn't check for the required ldap headers. $ ./configure --enable-daemon --enable-external-lookup --enable-clamav --enable-debug --enable-syslog --enable-preferences-extension --enable-long-usernames --enable-virtual-users --with-mysql-includes=/usr/include/mysql/ --enable-verbose-debug [snip] $ make [snip] gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DLOGDIR=\"/usr/local/var/dspam/log\" -DCONFDIR=\"/usr/local/etc\" -DCONFIG_DEFAULT=\"/usr/local/etc/dspam.conf\" -D_THREAD_SAFE -D_REENTRANT -D_POSIX_PTHREAD_SEMANTICS -D_GNU_SOURCE -I. -g -O2 -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations -MT external_lookup.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/external_lookup.Tpo -c external_lookup.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/external_lookup.o external_lookup.c:48:18: error: ldap.h: No such file or directory external_lookup.c: In function 'ldap_lookup': external_lookup.c:148: error: 'LDAP' undeclared (first use in this function) > > As for zlib, it's used by the mysql driver for some time now. But i also > have no idea why does it stop complaining about zlib if you install > libldap2-dev. It's not even a dependency for that package. This symptom remains a bit strange, though not very important. :) Also I might have found the reason for the statistics going a bit crazy. I was using the snapshot functionality of dspam_stats, and was monitoring the statistics from some point in time. After upgrading this date of snapshot seems to have been reset, so that I'm seeing the data since the beginning (=totals, even when running dspam_stats -s). I know that in the beginning the user had alot of false positives etc, so that would explain the odd stats. Can anyone tell me where dspam_stats keeps it's data when taking a snapshot? I guess this location is not the same between the original debian package and the one I installed manually. Sorry for all the fuzz. Alexander !DSPAM:1011,4838a52c150926730914339!

Looking forward for a built-in mysql lookup method ;) But when I don't use --enable-external-lookup, then ldap shouldn't be compiled in right? If that's the case it's not working :) It's no real problem for me though, I just installed the ldap headers. > >> -I previously was using the dspam package from debian stable. Something mysterious is definitely happening here. Before this release goes out as stable, this should be mentioned somewhere. [dspam-users] Issues using cvs snapshot
Hello, As suggested I tried the latest cvs snapshot. Here are some thoughts on it: -Can ldap be made optional through the configure script? -I previously was using the dspam package from debian stable. It has some patches like the 'Include' directive. Obviously that wasn't working anymore :) Any reason why these patches don't get integrated? -I only have one user configured, but that user's 'False Positives' went up quite alot suddenly. I'm sure it wasn't this high 2 days ago. Could this upgrade have anything to do with it? (Ham strike rate went from 0.4% to 8.3%). Alexander !DSPAM:1011,4836ba06150922046817469!
[dspam-users] training with --signature, can't parse uid from signature?
Hello, I've setup a mail system where dspam uids are logged to a database when the user selects it to be spam/not spam. Now I'm writing a script that feeds these signatures to dspam every day (so that it can train when the server is mostly idle). My script executes this: dspamc --source=error --class=innocent --signature=1003,481a8426182865547872000 But then I get this error in syslog: dspam[31876]: Unable to determine the destination user When I add a --user emailaddr then it works. Can't dspam determine the recipient using the signature? His uid is in it... If it's currently not possible, could you give some directions on how I can change it, so I can perhaps make a patch? Thanks, Alexander !DSPAM:1011,4824283b150921601424983!
