This goes in your DV-GPS menu (02/05) GPS MESSAGE
 Should work alright then.
I don't use aprs.fi, I use ui-view32 and have no issues with it...
For the MS150 we just recently had here in my zone, I used
REFFER2 and was able to beacon through the gateway with no problems...
Worked out really nice since my call sign was the command post.

Although I won't do it on a permanent basis, I want to be able to
broadcast my location via DPRS. I set the radio for GPS-A, set the
 unproto for API282,DSTAR* .

My packets are sorta getting out there, but aprs.fi says this:

 2010-05-23 04:02:09 UTC:
 N8TFDAPI282,DSTAR*,qAR,K8BIG-B:!3912.21N08421.73W/ [Unsupported packet
 format]

 Any thoughts?

Seems pretty easy to find out. Have you put your callsign into your favorite
APRS data viewer?

I like aprs.fi myself. Better map than most...

[DSTAR_DIGITAL] Dprs question

Ok, so here is where I am at..

First thanks to everyone! It works, no fancy software (like I had been told
in the past) just hook radio to GPS, set a few settings in the radio and
*poof* *presto* there is a little icon of me on the web!! Ok, it's early, I
entertain easily!

So for about the 2 hours I was driving around I have realized something,
_bring extra batteries_. 15 minutes into running errands yesterday the GPS
batteries died, and shortly after that the battery on the 91AD followed
suit.

Thanks again for everyones input!

To get back on topic... Dan... does D-RATS also pass through the

correct looking DPRS style data when a GPS is connected to D-RATS and

then the rig is connected also to D-RATS? That would be nifty...

Yeah, but only when a GPS QST fires. Since we can't tell when the

radio is keyed, we can't send it automatically send it simultaneously

 with the voice.

Ahh right - that whole can't tell the radio's keyed thing again.

Still, very cool.

Thanks Dan.

Sounds like life's keeping you busy this week. A WHOLE WEEK without an

update from Dan?! Is it even possible?! LOL!

Just kidding with ya... talented people end up VERY busy... that's just

how it goes... we'll all survive until you get caught up, I'm sure.

Thanks for all you do.

The Delorme EarthMate USB can output NMEA.

Here is a site that shows the USB Earthmate supporting NMEA-0183.
