Then police did not take him to court saying were still investigating the case. However yesterday police summoned Ndebele to appear in court but state prosecutors at Tredigold magistrate court in Bulawayo refused to prosecute saying police charges against Ndebele were not clear. “My client did not appear in court because the prosecutor referred the docket back to the police to clarify the charges,” said Ndebele lawyer Kucaca Phulu Last month police went on rampage ransacking several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) around the country accusing them of distributing the SW and AM radios. The NGOs which were raided over these radios include Zimbabwe Election Support Network (Zesn) the country’s biggest independent elections watchdog group and Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP) and National Youth Development (NYDT) searching for the same radios. Many villagers already own the radios and have in the past been harassed by war veterans and Zanu PF militia who confiscated the gadgets in volatile areas such as Mutoko during the bloody 2008 presidential election run-off period. Recently police spokesperson Charity Charamba announced the ban and warned that people who received the radios would also be arrested together with organizations which distribute the gadgets. This sets the stage for a massive crackdown likely to affect rural people who rely on the radios to listen to popular short wave stations such as Studio 7 and SW Radio Africa. President rejected demands for a election recount.
From CUBA- Many world leaders congratulated Nicolas Maduro on his victory in
the Venezuelan Presidential election. On Tuesday Maduro said that his
government had defeated a coup by the opposition which started street violence
following election results.
From SPAIN- More on the protests and post-election violence in Venezuela, and a
litany of nations that support the election results. Then 2 press reviews on
the worsening state of the Euro and legislation in Andalusia which allows
evicted families to occupy vacant homes owned by banks.
From RUSSIA- The world reacted to the victims of the Boston Marathon explosions
with messages of support. British scientists claim to have found hard evidence
that chemical weapons have been used in Syria, though it is unclear whether the
government or rebels discharged them.
From JAPAN- North Korea has rejected a US call for dialogue, dependent on Korea
beginning to cease nuclear development. At the Fukushima nuclear power plant
pumping has begun to decrease the amount of radioactive material leaking into
the soil and Pacific Ocean. A Japanese court rejected a lawsuit to shut down
the two nuclear power plants operating in Japan. French protestors tried to
stop MOX nuclear fuel from being shipped to Japan- the power plants that
utilize MOX fuel remain shut down since the Fukushima accident. A former
Hiroshima mayor has been awarded a German medal for his contributions to world
peace. A powerful earthquake struck near the Pakistan-Iran border on Tuesday-
both countries are using emergency services to find survivors.

Sample of this FDM like 'beacon' can be heard in this audio: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/zliangas/14722975 with samples from 17 - 15-16 mHz in sequence in one recording first in AM mode then in SSB mode using DE1103 connected a SW magnetic loop and recorded into a Creative Zen mp3 player . DTMF tones separate the three recordings Today I have checked a little more this MHz beacon chain and found that this beacon can be found on every 200 kHz starting from ca 3MHz to at least 30 MHz .Stronger carriers can be heard between 7 and 17 mHz . Home - News - Local - New Iban language radio station in the offing New Iban language radio station in the offing Posted on November 21, 2012, Wednesday KUCHING: Radio Kenyalang will be the latest radio station to be transmitting through short wave, and it is bound to be courting controversies once it gets on air soon. Reliable sources said the RK, which will broadcast in Iban, is linked to Sarawak Workers Party (SWP). And just like SWP, RK will be BN-friendly but will hit out at Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) the party it declared it would contest against in the coming election. The source also mentioned that RK will be something like Radio Free Sarawak (RFS). It will be headed by Lester Melanyi, who is the SWP media unit chief. Lester, who has vast experience in journalism mostly in the print media, was at one time with RFS in London for a year. When interviewed via email, Lester said he and a group of friends were in Kuala Lumpur and in London to work out the details on how to operate the station. “We will get our airwave right from World Radio Network in London, meaning we will broadcast direct from London,” he said. Asked whether RK will be based in London or Sarawak, Lester was evasive and merely said: “We are more than happy to operate from home but then again, we don’t want to be harassed or watch our back all the time.” “Let’s just wait and see. Moreover, we hope the radio will be up and running in a matter of weeks. For a start, we will go on air for an hour,” he added. SWP prime mover and now advisor Dato Sng Chee Hua also has years of experience in the media industry. He was once the owner of The Malaysian Today, a local tabloid. From GERMANY- Spain is one of the worst hit economies in the EU- here is the story of a town in the south named Marinaleda, where a maverick mayor is seeking a socialist utopia in the midst of financial chaos. The Israeli military has been attacking Gaza with escalating violence since the weekend, in response to Hamas rocket attacks. Israel also fired into Syria to defend the occupied Golan Heights. On Wednesday Israel assassinated the military chief of Hamas and the attacks are increasing as I produce this show on Thursday morning. Anti-austerity demonstrations swept across Europe on Wednesday, with Spain, Portugal, and Italy seeing the most violence.
From SPAIN- After 20 years the so-called banana wars are over- the EU and 11 Latin American countries signed an accord on tariffs and preferential treatment on the importing of bananas. Argentina saw the biggest anti-government demonstration in many years. A judge has frozen $19 billion worth of Chevron/Texaco assets over environmental damage claims in Ecuador. Many are calling for a change in the mortgage laws in Spain- currently if one falls behind on payments they are evicted but still liable for the mortgage debt.
From CUBA- The UN General Assembly voted 188-3 for the US to cease its blockade of Cuba. For the first time, voters in Puerto Rico passed a ballot initiative calling for statehood. John Kerry former Presidential candidate and Vietnam veteran is being considered for the Secretary of State position in Obama's new cabinet.
From JAPAN- Xi Jinping has been chosen as the new leader of China's ruling Communist Party. While at a conference in Japan, the Dalai Lama has condemned the Chinese government for repeated human rights violations. An international conference aimed at a nuclear-free Middle East has been postponed due to turmoil in the region.

Mother Angelica and the late Piet Derksen, a Dutch businessman, devout Catholic and philanthropist who helped Mother Angelica launch EWTN’s worldwide shortwave operation, WEWN, in 1992. EWTN Radio is celebrating its 20th anniversary. – EWTN photo EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network marked a huge milestone on March 7 to celebrate its 20th year on the air: It added its 180th affiliate when Bishop Cirilo Flores of San Diego flipped the switch to launch KCEO 1000 AM. On hand for the festivities were San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, his wife, Tiffany, and attorney Charles LiMandri, the co-chairpersons who helped raise the funds for this new station. The occasion included another milestone, too. This affiliate also is Immaculate Heart Radio’s 26th station that broadcasts EWTN radio programming throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Immaculate is EWTN’s largest affiliate group. “This is a great event to expand in San Diego,” said Immaculate’s president, Douglas Sherman. “The station reaches almost 4 million people, and a million of these are Catholic. That we can reach that many people full time has huge significance in our service to the Church.” Right after San Diego’s launch, seven more stations, from Delaware to Texas, have either started airing or will air within 45 days, bring the total of EWTN affiliates to 187. Sherman said the radio group’s partnership with EWTN goes back 17 years, when he and son Branigan visited Mother Angelica to obtain her permission to put EWTN (shortwave) programming on an AM/FM station they wanted to start in the Lake Tahoe/Reno, Nev., area. “We were the first in the country to sign a contract with EWTN to provide 24-hour programming,” Sherman noted. “Ave Maria beat us to get on the air in fall 1996, and we started Jan. 2, 1997.” That meeting also gained them something else: Mother Angelica’s prayers. She prayed over father and son. Today, Father Branigan Sherman works for Immaculate. The new station is a major one, as San Diego is the 17th-largest radio market in the country. It boosts a potential listening audience of more than 130 million people for EWTN radio total. EWTN radio is available in 19 of the country’s top 35 radio markets, including San Francisco, Dallas-Fort Worth, Detroit, Seattle, Washington and Boston. This does not count millions more listeners who are reached via shortwave and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 130. “Basically, from the time John Paul II introduced the idea of the New Evangelization, you can follow the growth of Catholic radio,” pointed out EWTN Radio’s general manager, David Vacheresse. Emphasized Sherman: “None of us in Catholic radio would probably be here today if not for Mother Angelica and her commitment to provide programming up on satellite for anyone who could start (an AM/FM) radio station.” With San Diego launched, Sherman is turning his attention to the only major California city without Catholic radio in English: Los Angeles. Most likely, Rivers will be involved in fundraising there, too. He’s sold on the impact Catholic radio can have. A few years ago, he and Tiffany saw a short video of Immaculate’s impact. “The biggest thing was seeing how many lives are touched,” he said. “Catholics were coming back to the Church. There were those who chose life when they tuned into Catholic radio when going to the abortion clinic. There were so many powerful stories.” Rivers and his wife then wanted to be part of bringing Catholic programming to San Diego. But, says the NFL star, it goes beyond a local station. Rivers heard a fellow speaker at a recent men’s conference he spoke at in Alabama sum up the Catholic journey this way: “We have two jobs: to get to heaven and to take as many people as possible.” “Catholic radio helps get that done,” Rivers said. “It helps nourish our own faith and helps bring others. It’s something as simple as a radio station, yet is impacting millions of people.” The other San Diego station co-chairperson, LiMandri, knows firsthand the impact of Catholic radio. He was lead attorney for the National Organization for Marriage in the Proposition 8 initiative to make the definition of marriage between one woman and one man. He also represented supporters of the Mount Soledad cross, a court case involving the presence of a cross at a veterans’ memorial. “I became aware of the power of radio from those campaigns,” he said. “As you know, the mainstream media is not very cooperative or willing to share the fullness of the truth on these issues, and we’ve had much more success getting our message out through the radio.” Initial results showed “how powerful radio can be doing the Lord’s work. AWR aired for almost 40 years (starting in 1950) via the Radio Ceylon shortwave service near Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was the first syndicated Christian broadcast from this station. Radio Ceylon then became Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and in 1988 AWR moved to its own shortwave station, KSDA in Agat, Guam. AWR is returning to Sri Lanka for a three-month stint, lasting until the end of June, and will transmit via the Deutsche Welle station near Trincomalee. AWR says the transfer will allow them to carry out maintenance on curtain antennas 1 and 2, and to install an additional curtain antenna at the Guam site. AWR encourages international radio monitors to submit reception reports on the temporary AWR usage of the Trincomalee shortwave station. Reception reports are welcome via regular mail, together with a suitable form of return postage, or via e-mail. The situation now in Thessaloniki is as follows: 792 Strong from ERA Malgara 1044 a German station (MDR-Info) poor to fair time depending 1179 RRI Romania good I would prefer if ERA chose to keep 981 for ERA sport (Algeria can be heard here ), stopping the station from Malgara 792 and continuing 1179 as this has good audio . 1044 for long time suffers from bad audio including buzzer. The technicians knew the situation for 1044 but could nt do anything for their reasons (no spare materials?)
