I deal with databases every day, so this seems like a no brainer. You have an old entity that goes away on 12-31-2010. People want to get credit for it. The new entities by chance have the same prefix. If they begin to enter the new ones before finishing the old ones, the system will go south. They might be able to sort out the new from the old based on the qso date, but that requires more time on the part of someone, and after all, what's the rush if everyone is in the same boat? That's my understanding. They can't close out 2010 until everthing is caught up, and then there's some processing to do for end-of-the-year. This is nothing new.
