[DX-CHAT] VP6DX Log-Dupes
Among other things, the VP6DX log shows the stations with the greatest band/mode slots. However, just underneath the chart with the listing is a statement that dupes count negatively, apparently being deducted from the worked totals on the chart. It also appears that the log is incomplete. Maybe next upload will have more previous Qs. Re: [DX-CHAT] VP6DX Log-Dupes
I'm sure that as time progresses, gaps will be filled in. But I'll admit: It's quite comforting to know that my 2 Q's are in the log! Interesting, though, that they show only 20 30 as bands available for RTTY. Or am I misreading that? 73, ron w3wn From: GERRY [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 2008/02/14 Thu AM 09:10:12 CST To: dx-chat@njdxa.org Subject: Re: [DX-CHAT] VP6DX Log-Dupes It also appears that the log is incomplete. Re: [DX-CHAT] VP6DX Log-Dupes
Mike: I am not sure it is correct to make that assumption about dupe contacts. If you have an ESP contact and the logs are not yet online, it is fairly normal to work them again (or for the first time?). Once the logs are online, dupes should not happen. My 20M CW,SSB,and RTTY contacts are not in the log yet even though they should be, but they said some contacts are not in the log, and they are working to correct the problem. Their website clearly shows these are their only 2 RTTY bands. http://ducie2008.dl1mgb.com/operating/frequencies/index.php Gerry VE6LB/VA6XDX DXCC Field Checker-Southern Alberta VE/VA6 QSL Bureau Team (403) 251-0384 [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.qsl.net/ve6lb/ - Original Message - From: Mike(W5UC) Kathy(k5MWH) Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx-chat@njdxa.org Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2008 9:25 AM Subject: Re: [DX-CHAT] VP6DX Log-Dupes At 09:54 AM 2/14/2008, Ron Notarius W3WN wrote: Interesting, though, that they show only 20 30 as bands available for RTTY. Ron: Want another level of confusion?? Enter the call letters in the online log check for one of the leaders of the band/mode slot leaders that hey list and you would expect to see all of those contacts spread out across the page?? No so. I did N4NN and it looked like he only worked 30M. there is something that I don't understand here. Re: [DX-CHAT] VP6DX Log-Dupes
I don't think they are allowing too many dupes to get into the log, I heard them on both 15 and 20 telling stations that they had already worked them. If I was not sure I think I would still dupe. Worst case will probably be that you are told you are already in the log. I can handle that. I did N4NN and it looked like he only worked 30M. there is something that I don't understand here. I didn't understand it either until I looked up my own call (I have not worked VP6DX). The on-line log shows you the band/modes that are NEEDED. Red boxes are needed, blue boxes mean that band/mode isn't schedule to be activated (like 160 RTTY). If you have worked them on fewer than all modes on a given band (i.e. just 20 SSB), there will be a check mark in the box meaning you worked them on THAT band/mode, other red boxes for the same band mean you have NOT worked them on that band/mode. So for the band/mode leaders, the display will be very sparse, since they will NEED VP6DX on only a few band/modes. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C/Ø, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX related items only, dx-chat@njdxa.org This is the DX-CHAT reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org
