>From ARRL LoTW site: Mar 7, 2008: 300 Entities Confirmed in LoTW by K4DY -- Les, K4DY has confirmed 302 entities in Logbook of the World! Congratulations Les. Les says "My current total on LoTW is 302 (with deletes)/298 (current countries). I am up to 1,914 Challenge Countries. This was as of 02/19/2008. I am importing the LoTW Report directly into a separate Logbook program. It is Logger 32. This way I can tell at a glance where I stand since only LoTW QSO confirmations are in the log."
Les received his Novice ticket in 1957 at the age of 13. He relates "my call at the time was KN4SWL. I upgraded to General about 8 months later but the FCC changed my call to K4ZCP (why they didn't give me K4SWL I don't know --I was so happy to have my General I didn't care, hi). I became K4DY in 1976. I started chasing DX as a Novice and have never stopped. I still prefer CW and love low band DXing. I have also got hooked on 6 Meter Dxing. Just wish I had discovered the band sooner, hi. When LoTW was first announced I wasn't the least bit interested in it but then I got to thinking, hey this would be a neat way to start over from scratch and see what I could do using nothing but LoTW confirmations. Here are my totals as of 2/19/2008: 160: 88 80: 180 40: 220 30: 219 20: 259 17: 252 15: 238 12: 217 10: 193 6: 48 ------------- 1,914 for the Challenge (302/298 for DXCC) I am also chasing States via LoTW. I have completed 160M WAS and need only 17 more confirmations to have a 5BWAS all via LoTW. The hard part is finding someone in a State like North Dakota that uses LoTW, hi (Thank goodness there is at least one- KD4POJ, hi) My earliest LoTW confirmation goes back to August 14, 1958 when I was K4ZCP. I had only been General Class about a month when I worked KP4AOO. KP4AOO is today Roger, N4ZC who lives only about 35 miles away, hi hi. I have never uploaded my Novice Log-KN4SWL. Someday I may obtain the necessary certificate and upload those 500+ QSOs as well. I doubt if I would get any hits but who knows, hi. -------- Thanks to Les for his comments and for using LoTW! ---------------------------------------------------------- Archives http://www.mail-archive.com/dx-news@njdxa.org THE DXR is sponsored by the North Jersey DX Association.
