Re: [DXR] R-7 Antenna
I say to anyone out there on the west coast that needs a good antenna on 40m to snap it up. I used a blown-up R-7 and added some aluminum to make a full-size 1/4 wave vertical with 2 wire counterpoise radials. I put it up on a 20ft telescoping pole. It is a bomb! Fed with coax work the whole band no problem without a tuner. Or you can shorten it some by using the coil from the last trap (17m) and cap hat. After Hurricane Floyd, I used it fed with 450 ohm ladderline and balanced tuner and worked the world on every band (but 160m). Sure, it's not a beam but it can be easily set-up at a campsite on the beach somewhere or for after the storm when you need to get on the air. If it was within driving distance, I'd go for it. All qsls directly received are now in the mail. No buro cards yet but they will be answered and returned via buro in a timely manner. Thanks for the many contacts especially on the WARC bands. Anyone have the appropriate US Postal Regulation to quote my local P.O. on redeeming IRCs? They probably haven't seen anyone trying to redeem one before 73 es DX, Rick AI5P Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-news To post a message, DX NEWS items only, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives available at http://www.mail-archive.com/dx-news%40pro-usa.net/ This is the DXR reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org

Re: [DXR] 9U acceptance for DXCC
I believe that the following operations were counters: 9U5AV September 1980 (not sure) 4U9U around October 1994 9U5D Feb. 2000 (not sure) Best bet would be to contact Bill Moore at the DXCC Desk of the ARRL. He has published the list of "good/valid" 9U-operations a number of times. Bill must know them by heart by now, since the question comes-up at least every six months! :-) 73, Jay/AF2C --- Karl-Heinz Kuehlborn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello, > > I remember a discussion quit a long ago, that some > years any activity from > 9U is not valid for the DXCC. > > Does anybody can tell me this period? > > Thanks > > 73 de Karl-Heinz, DL2FAG > === > Karl-Heinz Kuehlborn > > - DL2FAG - > > > > > Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems > http://njdxa.org/dx-news > To post a message, DX NEWS items only, > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Archives available at > http://www.mail-archive.com/dx-news%40pro-usa.net/ > This is the DXR reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org __ Do You Yahoo!?
