[DXR] Mexican Licensing

2001-08-01 Thread David Hollander

I am heading into Mexico very soon and was wondering if someone might
have the info and address of where to obtain the temporary ham license
in Mexicali, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. I have been
through the procedure and obtained a license in Hermosillo, Sonora
before but we are heading into Baja California on this trip

Any help would be appreciated on this.

Tnx and 73,

Dave N7RK

Re: [DXR] DXCC for clubs

2001-08-01 Thread Phil Cooper GU0SUP

Hi one and all,

Just for info, we at GU3HFN, the GU club HQ have DXCC and the certificate to
prove it.

I have to say that it was gained some years ago, so the rules may well have
changed, but we have got the certificate, plus little stickers for 125, 150
and 175 countries confirmed.

Cheers for now,

[DXR] GCR Form

2001-08-01 Thread TONY/N2GVB

Hello everyone. I hope everyone has worked lots of good DX. The bands are
not all that good, but now and then a opening appears. Last night I was able
to make contact with a new for me, Z32XX, Macedonia. It might not be new to
a lot, but since I have been a ham ( 1986), I have not worked one. Last
night was my night. Dragan had a good 58 into Central New York State. Watch
for hin on 14.255. Had a good audio signal.

I need a little help. Not with Z32XX, ( he has a state side manger NN6C ).
What I am looking for is a GCR form. This form is used for listing contacts
that are required for some of the DX countries certificates. Many that are
listed in CQ and QST ask for a GCR list. If any one has this form that they
could send VIA e-mail, I would appreciate it very much. I am a paper chaser
as well as a DX hound. A lot of the DX certificates are not all that easy to
obtain. Even some of the state side ones have a real chalenge to them.
Again, thank you inadvance.

Do keep an eye on twenty and fifteen meters. There have been some good ones
on..

I have seen some of these generic forms and don't think they are all
that necessary. GCR (General Certification Rule) simply means that
your list of QSL cards are indeed in your possession and the list is
certified by two licensed radio amateurs.

However, their signatures does not verify the validity of such cards,
as often I find in Worldradio's W-100-N applications. So, heaven help
us if DXCC goes this route (GCR).
