Re: [DX-NEWS] YA5T ON-Line Logs brevity

2002-02-19 Thread Steven Wheatley KU9C

Steve et al,

it appears the

http://www.qsl.net/ya5t

seems to be working for log copy. The other trick seems to be you must have java
scripts enabled (else you get the page, with a blank box at the bottom).

Hopefully this puts it to pseudo-rest...seems a lot of folks have worked
YA5T.thankfully. Between that and PW0T...I've told the folks in Parsippany to get
a few extra big buckets for the incoming!

By now everyone is aware that there is a problem. I suggest and ask
that everyone hold off this flood of it's not working posts at
least for the time being.

I am going to ask friend, YA5T QSL manager and fellow NJDXA member
Steve, KU9C, to monitor the situation and when HE feels like things
are WORKING, report back to all of us via the DX-NEWS reflector that
all is well.

Until that time, feel free to converse amongst yourselves. Take
advantage of our DX-CHAT reflector, or just chill for a day or so
until the problems with modern technology can be fixed.

Thanks for your understanding in this matter. Hopefully, the
continued postings of log failures and the flood of complaints to my
mail box will cease??

[DX-NEWS] QTH info

2002-02-19 Thread Garie Halstead

In 1979 on April 10th, I worked 1S1DX on 15m SSB. Never did send for
the card (via VK2BJL at that time).

Anyone recall the QTH of this station? Or if someone may still have the
logs? no email address for VK2BJL

Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Re: [DX-NEWS] QTH info (1S1DX)

2002-02-19 Thread DinoAL7LZ

Garie---I worked them on 20m SSB from Alaska on April 11, 1979 and got the
card from VK2BJL. Their QTH was the Spratly Islands of course. From the
back of the card the operators were:

VK2BJL (Harry); K4SMX (Stew); and K1MM (Bill) so maybe an e-mail to one of
the other two if calls are the same may find you a route.

Good Hunting!

Garie,

I believe VK2BJL became a Silent Key about a year or so ago. Sorry.

Re: [DX-NEWS] QTH info (1S1DX)

2002-02-19 Thread Bob Schenck

You can get a 1S1DX QSL (Spratly 1979) from Bill Horner, VK4FW.
Bill picked up the logs and cards from VK2BJL's family after Harry passed
away.
I was a member of the infamous 1S1DX team effort. :-)
