[DX-NEWS] BQ9P
Well since the storm has passed and they have had some nice weather they have once again got all of the antenna's working. They will listen up in the General Class portion of the bands on occasions and will announce the frequency they are listening on. This is particularly applicable to 40 meters. Tuesday one Yagi will come down. The remainder of the antenna's down on Wednesday and early morning flight from their back to Tawaiin on Thursday. Very HOT very HUMID but today they were able to each get hold of a cold beer and very much enjoyed it. [DX-NEWS] BQ9P weather
I just talked to Sam K5YY and he says they are now in the eye of the Typhoon. It is very dark and quite. They do not know what the next several hours will bring but if they disappear from the airways it is because the wind has taken down their antenna's. Re: [DX-NEWS] BQ9P
The team arrived on Pratas and have two station on the air and will get the WARC antenna's up come daylight. I heard no activity on 12M tonight and so tried calling CQ on 24900. I heard a weak one calling at 0242z--it turned out to be BQ9P calling me! I gave him an optimistic 559 report while receiving the form 599. The beacons on 24930 have shown 12M open frequently when there is no activity on the band (RR9O/B and VR2B/B were copied just before working BQ9P in 12M). 73, Bill K0HA --- Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems, etc DX-NEWS http://njdxa.org/dx-news DX-CHAT: http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX NEWS items only, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives http://www.mail-archive.com/dx-news%40pro-usa.net/
