[DXR] A DXer's view

2001-09-12 Thread Lynn Lamb

To DX,

Most Americans and Radio Amateurs are open hearted who enjoy life and their
radios. Most of us are peaceful folks who value life, share with others and
consider all hams equal. Many of us love working DXwe travel this way,
chase awards, play contest, and/or we really believe in "enhancing
international good will" via our radios.

The messages from DXers on the attracts against our country yesterday have
been gratifying and very very appreciated for us here stateside. We thank
you.

There are some folks and organizations here and other places who are not of
faith and life means little ...even the life of women and children. They
are cowards clear and simple. They hide behind others while doing their
dirty work. Any country or people can be the focus of what we experienced
yesterday...11 Sept 2001. We Americans hope you don't, but if you do we
will be there for you too.

Hard talk is what many of us feel like doing now. But talk is not worth
much relative to fixing the problem. I will say, and honestly believe that
nothing can stop this country from taking care of the business ahead. As far
as I can see and hear, NO ONE is willing to sit back and wait until it
happens again, here or abroad. We will take care of the cowards, and let
there be no reservations that all Americans will sacrifice if necessary.

Those who post ugly comments on clusters and across the internet, let them
not be forgotten... ignored please, but not forgotten.

So we will grieve and pray, bury our dead, clean up the mess, take measures
to help prevent this act from happening again, gather information, rally
together, gathering steam, pray some more.. THEN get on board
worldride with us to see a better world ahead for all of us without
these parasites. America may seem by some as too reserve at times, perhaps
to aggressive for a few, but for those who like freedom, here we come!!

A sober approach would be to analyse what USA has done
wrong in order to create enough hatred so some people
are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. With an
ignorant president you need some wise and knowledgable
people in the government, who can review your foreign
policy and come up with some much needed changes. The
lack of understanding the world outside USA and to
some extent Western-Europe has led USA to make some
serious mistakes. Not knowing who committed the
horrible terror attack, for the sake of argument let
me just make an example: It does not take a rocket
scientist to understand that the lack of support to
the Palestinians struggle for freedom and
selfdetermination is not winning friends in the Arab
world while at the same time the oppressers are
receiving several billion in "aid" every year .

You may not believe it, but in many places around in
the world, some of us have had to stress that we are
not Americans in order to be treated politely !

2001-09-14 Thread James Nipper

I must ask that Steve and Urb not banish me for making this reply. I
have held off as long as I can stand it, so if I must be banned so be
it.

Rag, I am offended at this message that you have posted. It is not the
fault of the United States that we have been attacked. You cannot make
excuses for these cowards who have done this. You should be ashamed,
and should immediately apologize to all on these lists.

We do not have an ignorant President. Setting all partisian politics
aside, members of both of our American parties have fully praised our
President for the way he was been handling this crisis.

Once more, America is not the party to "blame" for this tradegy. The
cowards and fanatics and those who give them safe refuge and spread
hatred thoughout the world are the ones to blame, and the ones who will
feel the heat of America in the days to come.

For now, you should feel the heat for posting this insensible message on
our radio lists.

God Bless America==

73 and hopefully we can get back to DX, I just don't feel like it
today.

Why didn't you send this last message private. Because you want everyone to see what
you sent. You wanted all to think only you understand censorship, people's right to
speak out, etc.
Why is it when someone responds to another persons statement is always his/hers "free
speech" or "his/her opinion" but at the same time you are getting on someone that
just stated his opinion, like my opinion of Rag? Don't I have the freedom of speech?
Too many bad people hiding behind "freedom of speech".
It appears that there is an excuse for everything bad in this world. You can always
think of some reason for this insanity!
I just had to speak out against Rag's remarks. All proud American's should. We need
to speak out more often.
Now I just exercised my freedom of speech. Right?
I would like to see the likes of Rag disappear!

Re: [DXR] A DXer's view

2001-09-14 Thread Ron Notarius WN3VAW

Let me re-echo KF2TI's request that this discussion be moved
to DX CHAT.  That's why it was created, gang...

And those of you who disagree with the original poster's POV
-- remember, watch the language on the reflectors.  This is kinda like MLB,
the NFL & the NHL -- the ref or ump often misses the original transgression
but catches and punishes the reaction, no matter how justified.

RE: [DXR] A DXer's view

2001-09-14 Thread Dave, AA6YQ

When you assert that terrorism can be justifiable - "...analyse what USA has
done wrong in order to create enough hatred..." - you are directly
encouraging those who choose this barbaric and cowardly path.

While much of the world is saying "We are Americans", you seem to be saying
"I am a terrorist".

With respect and sorrow
