Re: [DXR] Need adr for DX spots on Web
Hi Guy's, On the DX Monitor just enable the "Filter Settings" to weed out VHF spots. You can't stop the spotters though. 73, Bob KI4RU [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > On Sun, 14 Oct 2001 "Charles Harpole" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > > > Hello DXers... Personally, I find DX Summit very useful for tracking DXpeditions. With worldwide spots, I can see how many transmitters are on the air, what bands / paths they are using, and anticipate openings to USA. I could do without all the (mostly EU / JA ) VHF spots! I'd like to see a 250 HF selection in the menu. Tom N4KG GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! Re: [DXR] Need adr for DX spots on Web
Hello Charlie ... If you link to an AR-Cluster node, you can configure what spots will be sent to you as a user. You can configure the filters so that only spots from specified originating countries will be sent to you. Such as from USA only, VE only, from USA and VE only, etc ... You can also configure to only get spots from certain states within the USA, if you want East Coast spots only, etc ... very flexible. My node K8NA is an AR-Cluster node.24.9.44.206 Give it a try ... if you want to check out other AR-Cluster nodes, go to http://www.cestro.com/pcluster/index.shtml and get the ip address of them. Some AR-Cluster nodes are configured to pre filter spots, and others send out all spots and let the user's do the filtering as they wish. Which gives the user more flexibility. During normal DXing, you may only want spots from USA. During contesting, you may want to expand to a broader area of spots. I will send you via a seperate Email, the user's manual for the AR-Cluster nodes. 73 Ted K8NA - Original Message - From: "Charles Harpole" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, October 14, 2001 12:54 PM Subject: [DXR] Need adr for DX spots on Web Hello DXers... RE: [DXR] Need adr for DX spots on Web
Hi Charly, I had web access to all-USA only spots running on W6RFU, and it wasn't really used. I think the only hits on the page were by me. Hi Hi. I eventually disabled the httpd because of the lack of usage, and the possible processing delays I thought it was causing during contests. Max, NG7M, has web access to the last 25 all-USA only spots on NC7J at; http://nc7j.qrq.com/clx/showdx.sql A nice feature of NC7J is the automatic QRZ.COM lookup of the DX or spotter callsigns. If you are looking for a telnet connections for all-USA only spots you can use either; telnet://128.111.56.240 W6RFU telnet://nc7j.qrq.comNC7J 73, Bill N6WS [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Charles Harpole Sent: Sunday, October 14, 2001 12:55 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [DXR] Need adr for DX spots on Web Hello DXers... Re: [DXR] Need adr for DX spots on Web
Charly, I use one of the TelNet locations for more local DX spots, however, there are usually only a few users signed on and almost all of the TelNet services send spots to Internet DX Clusters. Using DX Monitor in conjunction with DX Viewer allows you to filter spots and you can view spots from only W3 or W6, etc. 73, George K3GV DX: Long may it live ! If it isn't LOGic it isn't LOGging !
