Re: [DXR] POSTING DELAY?
Just to belabor this point some more If you think a message has suffered a long delay, carefully examine ALL the Received: lines in the message header (you may need to configure your E-mail client to view them), being careful to compensate for time zone differences. You will be able to re-create the time line from when the poster pressed the SEND button, to when it arrived in your mailbox, including each stop inbetween. Thus, you can see any places where the message got held up. 73 - Jim AD1C = Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.com __ Do You Yahoo!? This is prior to when I "empty outgoing mailbox". Yes, I know some go out in one function. What ever time it takes after that can be anyone's guess. Anyway, so what! It's faster than my mailman. My Hoax >message took about 40 minutes from the time I sent it until it was posted, >quite slow for a List of this type and activity. Matter of perspective. We are getting a free ride with this list and mail from the list is low priority. Count the number of daily messages and multiply by 2,000 and you will see we are generating a lot of traffic.
