[Dx-packages] [Bug 755406] Re: Mouse offset problem when using a WINE application maximized

2013-11-19 Thread Higgs Bison
I have attached Aport information for this bug and marked it as
confirmed. Please try to fix it. Suggested workaround with
decoration_match="!(state=mavert & state=maxhorz)" does not work for me,
every Wine window appears with second title title bar when maximized.

Bug description:
When putting Picasa in fullscreen, all controls on the screen are
drawn as expected (window without title bar) but the mouse has to be
the size of the title bar BELOW these controls. There seems to be a
y-offset of the height of the title bar.

I only noticed this for Picasa for now, but I found a report from
another user of this behavior there:
  http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/44091/mouse-input-offset-problem-
  in-web-fullscreen .

I attached a screenshot. Please notice the mouse pointer being below
the button, but the button is highlighted. Also the original title bar
is shining through the slightly transparent globalmenu-bar. Picasa is
3.8 installed into the original Picasa 3.x-wine-environment from
Google (picasa-package). This is on Natty with today's updates.

Bug description:
When putting Picasa in fullscreen, all controls on the screen are
drawn as expected (window without title bar) but the mouse has to be
the size of the title bar BELOW these controls. There seems to be a
y-offset of the height of the title bar.

I only noticed this for Picasa for now, but I found a report from
another user of this behavior there:
  http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/44091/mouse-input-offset-problem-
  in-web-fullscreen .

I attached a screenshot. Please notice the mouse pointer being below
the button, but the button is highlighted. Also the original title bar
is shining through the slightly transparent globalmenu-bar. Picasa is
3.8 installed into the original Picasa 3.x-wine-environment from
Google (picasa-package). This is on Natty with today's updates.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1075417] Re: Unity panel height and launcher width don't scale with system DPI/font settings

2013-11-19 Thread Daniel van Vugt
** Description changed:

System Settings > Universal Access > Text size = Larger
+ or
+ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1.0
+ increasing the value above 1.0 as desired.

Most things scale properly except Unity. Most of Unity's fonts scale
correctly, but elements like the launcher, tooltips, and panel don't
  grow like they should.

I'm not sure if bumping the Gnome font size like this is the right approach
or we should be doing something more like:
  xrandr --dpi ...

I have just started noticing this bug since I upgraded to 13.10.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1208204] Re: indicator-sound no longer functions with xfce4-indicator-plugin

2013-11-19 Thread Scott Moore
I'm curious, since we have a fairly simple work-around, why not just
implement the workaround in the ISO until the actual bug is fixed? From
a public relations standpoint, it seems to me that would be the best way
to address this very visible bug.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1208204] Re: indicator-sound no longer functions with xfce4-indicator-plugin

2013-11-19 Thread Gaspar
Two things:

- Workaround in #5 kind of worked for me: The indicator appeared ok, but
still no sound. I didn't got sound until I installed all optional add-
ons of the pulseaudio package in the Software Center and execute a "sudo
alsa force-reload".

- Certainly having no sound at all was a clear stopper for me, and not
seen #5 workaround in the official iso after 3 months is something I
still cannot belive.

Bug description:
  [Impact]
Any users who starts indicator-application with an inaccessible dbus session
bus.

  [Test case]
Try to start indicator-application-service as a different user than the user
currently connected (i.e. sudo -u toto /usr/lib/*/indicator-application-service
)
Observe that it does not crash and rather stops gracefully.

  [Regression potential]
The service could fail to successfully start even when the bus should be
available, in which case it should normally get respawned automatically.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 739184] Re: [Libreoffice] Mnemonics do not work in Unity

2013-11-19 Thread Max Barry
Comment #79 works for me, thanks.

So right now the options for users are:

(a) Use the default Ubuntu install of LibreOffice: Your Alt+? keys don't
work, so you can't open the File menu by pressing Alt+F, etc.

(b) Remove "libreoffice-gtk": Your Alt+? keys work, but it looks very
different to every other application on your system, and has lots of
minor but disruptive bugs like being unable to maximize the window
fully.

(c) Remove the Ubuntu version of LibreOffice and install the one from
the libreoffice.org: Everything works, but it lacks some minor Unity
integration, as mentioned above.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1251777] [NEW] [regression] Semi-maximizing and then restoring the window does not return it to it's original place

2013-11-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Semi-maximizing a window and then restoring it does not return the
window back to it's original place before semi-maximizing it.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Place window somewhere near the left side of the screen.
2. Press Ctrl-Super-Right to semi-maximize the window to the right side of the
screen.
3. Click the restore button.

Observe the window is restored to near right side of the screen instead
of back where it was originally near the left.

Note: Dragging the window to the left/right edge to semi-maximize *will*
restore the window back to its original position. It's only the
shortcut that causes this.

2013-11-19 Thread Yuriy Padlyak
What about CTRL+SHIFT+t in browsers? It is very annoying now going to the
menu every time you want to restore a closed tab :(

sound menu caches playlists which causes issues

  Fix Released

Bug description:
I am working on adding sound menu playlist support to
https://launchpad.net/beat-box using libunity. I've found that the
sound menu appears to do some sort of caching of playlists. For
example, if I add a playlist 'foo' with id a, exit, give that same
playlist id b, and restart, both playlists are there with ids a and b.

Why does the playlist with id a from the previous session stay there?
