Bug description:
x11proto-input, libxfixes, libxi, unity and unity-2d in precise needs
updates to work with the new pointer barrier api from x1.14.

  [Impact]
   * Pointer barrier api has changed between 1.13 and 1.14.
(xorg-server-lts-saucy)
   * Modifications in unity and unity-2d are required to support both api's.

  [Test Case]
   * Update all packages.
   * Test pointer barriers on an old xorg-server, they should continue to work.
   * Test pointer barriers on the new xorg-server, they should work.

  [Regression Potential]
    * Low, it enables a separate code path for pointer barriers. The code in
unity is a bit different due to copying the rework from upstream unity and
keeping the old paths for legacy pointer barriers. Upstream dropped the old
paths.

  [Other Info]
    * It's a bit of a hack. The old pointer barrier symbols live in libxfixes,
the new ones in libxi. Because of the overlap some modifications had to be made
to allow both pointer barriers to be included. This works as well as it can.
   * Depending on the queried libxi2/libxfixes versions, old pointer barriers
or new ones are used.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1262611] Re: Network indicator hidden when there is no cellular signal

2013-12-20 Thread Nick Dedekind
Bit of a toughy to fix the visibility issue; but for now, regarding the
order this is what it is and should be:

Current order:
indicator-datetime
indicator-sound
indicator-power
indicator-messages
indicator-bluetooth
indicator-location
indicator-network

Desired Order:
indicator-datetime
indicator-sound
indicator-power
indicator-messages
indicator-network
indicator-bluetooth
indicator-location
indicator-rotation (doesn't exist yet)

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1263212] [NEW] Vertical bar always splits screen in apps

2013-12-20 Thread Dave Dixon
Public bug reported:

The screen is approximately 217 mm wide. The desktop displays normally,
but when running apps (Browser, Contacts, Friends, Gallery, System
Settings, Update Manager, Calendar, etc.) there is a vertical black bar
between 146 mm and 150 mm.

I reported this previously as a Browser problem Bug #1263198 . In that
case, something had already been displayed on the right side of the
screen, which continued to block (blank out) the right side. Gestures on
the right (blank) side would still affect the left side: sweeping the
page up or down, for example.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1064155] Re: [SRU Regression] Launcher and Global Menu are completely black after exiting fullscreen from certain apps

2013-12-20 Thread Boza
I have this bug on 13.10. Version of Unity is 7.1.2.

How to reproduce:
Open video on youtube and use html5 player instead of flash. (youtube.com/html5
to enable it).
Make video fullscreen, watch it for 5-10 sec and unmaximize it. You should see
textures of launcher and upper panel don't get redraw. Now you have to click
on some of indicators to get it back, or to click Super button and then click
left mouse button anywhere.

I attached screenshot.

Regression in launcher / global menu drawing.

  [Test Case]

Exit fullscreen mode from programs such as VirtualBox and KRDC the
Unity Launcher on the left of the screen and the Global Menu at the
top screen both disappear, and come back after clicking with a mouse.
Expected result would be that they do not disappear.

  [Regression Potential]

None known, draws the menus when full screen app is minimized.
  Automatic tests included.

UPDATE: I have uninstalled the customized version of unity
(ikarosdev-unity-revamped) using the following command:
  sudo apt-get purge unity unity-services unity-common libunity-core-5.0-5

I then removed the custom unity ppa from my system and proceeded to
install the official version of unity 5.6.

I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WHICH ARE DESCRIBED BELOW:

After upgrading to Unity 5.6 on Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit, now when I exit
fullscreen mode from programs such as VirtualBox and KRDC the Unity
Launcher on the left of the screen and the Global Menu at the top
  screen both disappear.

All I have to do to get them to reappear is click anywhere on the
screen, which seems entirely unnecessary... I did not experience this
behavior with Unity 5.4. Also I am experiencing this behavior on two
different laptops that are both running 12.04 32-bit with different
  hardware and software configurations.

  Screenshot is attached.

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Last daily release run revealed several autopilot failures in the HUD
stack, high above our threshold. Those are blocking the release of the
HUD stack. The failures are as follows:

unity.tests.test_hud.HudBehaviorTests.test_closes_then_focuses_window_on_mouse_down
  unity.tests.test_hud.HudBehaviorTests.test_no_initial_values

unity.tests.test_hud.HudLauncherInteractionsTests.test_multiple_hud_reveal_does_not_break_launcher(Monitor
 1,Launcher autohide)

unity.tests.test_hud.HudVisualTests.test_hud_icon_shows_the_focused_application_emblem(Monitor
 0,Launcher autohide,Launcher on primary monitor)
  unity.tests.test_hud.HudVisualTests.test_hud_icon_is_shown(Monitor
1,Launcher autohide,Launcher on all monitors)

unity.tests.test_hud.HudBehaviorTests.test_mouse_changes_selected_hud_button

unity.tests.test_hud.HudBehaviorTests.test_keyboard_steals_focus_from_mouse

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(transposition)

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(duplication)

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(insertion)

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(deletion)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(basic)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(lowercase)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(uppercase)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(partial)
  unity.tests.test_hud.HudBehaviorTests.test_no_initial_values

unity.tests.test_hud.HudLauncherInteractionsTests.test_multiple_hud_reveal_does_not_break_launcher(Single
 Monitor,Launcher never hide)

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(transposition)

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(duplication)

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(insertion)

unity.tests.test_search.HudFuzzySearchTests.test_hud_fuzzy_search(deletion)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(basic)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(lowercase)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(uppercase)
  unity.tests.test_search.HudSearchTests.test_hud_search(partial)

Not all happened on both machines at once. Some tests might be flacky
on trusty right now. It is unrelated to autopilot 1.4 as we are still
using autopilot 1.3 for this run.
