[Dx-packages] [Bug 1277888] Re: In most apps all menu items are gray / unclickable

2014-02-15 Thread Tulio Lazarini
Hello,

I've run an aptitude-show libgtk-3-0 here, and got version 3.10.7, not
3.10.6. The bug still occurs. Package libgtk-3-common also are in
version 3.10.7. I have https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team as an active
package source, as I have GNOME 3.10 installed on my Ubuntu 13.10.

Running apt-cache policy, I got these candidate versions (my Ubuntu are
localized in Brazilian Portuguese):
libgtk-3-0:
  Instalado: 3.10.7-0ubuntu1~saucy1
  Candidato: 3.10.7-0ubuntu1~saucy1
  Tabela de versão:
 *** 3.10.7-0ubuntu1~saucy1 0
500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome3-team/gnome3/ubuntu/ saucy/main
amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 3.8.6-0ubuntu3.1 0
500 http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy-updates/main amd64
Packages
 3.8.4-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages

So, I could do a downgrade to 3.8, but it should broke GNOME 3.10...
Any advices about how I can downgrade libgtk-3-0 to version 3.10.5?

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1279811] Re: Clock keeps marked calendar day

2014-02-15 Thread florin
Yes, it is reproducible.

Click on the clock. Calendar opens. Click on a day, it will change
background color. Do your stuff on the computer. Tomorrow do the same,
you will see the day you previously selected still selected.

I do not get it why my selection would be active once I went out of that
calendar. If I would not see the first line showing the current day, I
might even think that one is the current day. I would flush any
click/action done over there when I go out of that calendar.

I do not know the reason for keeping a day marked in the calendar

when using the meta key. (But I'm not a Mac user: I just [over] use the

See the attatched picture taken from a screencatch on libreOffice.
I have done several upgrades of packages two days ago. See the extracts of
the Synaptic history below. Yesterday, I passed the time to make appear the
mouse pointer. So I've not seen this bug.
The way to get back a visible cursor for the mouse was by setting :
  gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.cursor active false

  The bug affects :
LibreOffice, Gedit, Teminal, Image viewer, Gimp, Inkscape, Audacity, Brasero

  But not :
Firefox, Thunderbird, Frescobaldi, JOSM, vlc, Scribus, Rhythmbox,
gnome-system-monitor, Rosegarden

A little more, as far as I have texted:
  * Contextual menus are still available.
  * Short keys are working.
  * In Gedit, the problem occurs when opening gedit by clicking a document, by
opening gedit in the launche, by calling gedit in the terminalr. But not by
calling gedit as root in a terminal. In this last case, the main menu is not on
the top of the screen but in into the gedit windown.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1262860] Re: on live session in precise daily images, wrong resolution

2014-02-15 Thread John Kim
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

  6. Now, touch the screen for the first time (no matter where you touch the
screen)
  7. Now, use again the touchpad or external mouse to move the cursor to the
left to reveal the Launcher

  Expected result: Launcher is revealed
Actual result: Launcher cannot be revealed.

alt-f1 to reveal the launcher), but moving cursor to the left side still can't
show launcher

Bug description:
Update manager is showing up in the dock but I can click on the icon
all day and nothing happens. Similarly if I do Super-S or Super-W it
  doesn't show up anywhere.

Even if I alt-tab to the application nothing shows up. This happens
only when update manager runs on its own. If I kill it and then launch
it myself it comes to the foreground just fine.

I'm not 100% sure whether this is a unity, compiz, or update-manager
bug but so far my bet is on unity.

  =Original Report=
Bug #877444 is showing again in latest updates, please re-open it. This is
the exact same problem.

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * Style::SquareButton writes a small png to /tmp/wut.png
   * If a user creates /tmp/wut.png as a symlink to some file on the system
writeable by the owner of the unity process, then he/she can destroy that file.

  [Test Case]

   * log out
   * log in with the upgraded package
   * open the terminal application using control-alt-T, ensure the terminal is
focused
   * invoke the HUD by pressing the Alt key and typing f (the HUD menu
selection 'drop
down' must appear to trigger the png file write)
   * check for presence of /tmp/wut.png

  [Regression Potential]

   * n/a

  [Other Info]

   * Marc Deslauriers from the security team said it isn't a problem on
Ubuntu because we have symlink restrictions (in this case part of the
  Yama LSM [1]).

   * We believe, not everyone is necessarily running Yama LSM.
